Compared to today Fi-Carre had quick partitions like this one I wonder how he turned so slow

I think it's just his style which let him down. He faced too much competition when new soloists arriving in Wenge had the more modern style so he was always pipped by newcomers who included Mboka Liya, Pathy Moleso and Patou Solo.
I think he stepped up his game a bit on Anti Terro though he was the only soloist who didn't play on the generique(since Mboka Liya,Pathy and Patou all played on the generique),at least he was given his own song

At this point even the then new ataluku Cellulaire brought some hope,sad he's dried up.

Ficarre remains a good soloist and has stepped up his game as evidenced by the 2013 Primus generique

I like him but if he retired, I would place a grin on my face.
