I was just having a strong debate about this with my family I believe its shady how the guy took the mic and he should come forward and talk about it but i don't think he was poisoned i just believe he wanted to replace the microphone cause there was other people on stage before papa wemba and since he's a big star there might wanna change it but just me though.... and most people always like to create controversy when a musician dies just let the man rest in peace!

Bullshit!!!!!! Such conspiracies are just being created by village mannered idiots with nothing to do. A sound technician was just doing his job as assigned by the sound engineer of the night. Papa Wemba was using a cordless mic probably because the wired mic had failed, he first took away the first mic then returned with another but before he could place it where Papa Wemba was, the old man fell to the ground so the technician was left puzzled and standing aside as musicians and paramedics surrounded Papa so the technician moved further t the front of the stage and he wasn't shown again as the filming stopped. What kind of poison would be put on a mic and does it mean Papa Wemba was licking the mic. 

Kiki I doubt he was poisoned. And yes Sly you can be poisoned via the mic. Man which world are you in. A mic can be laced with a chemical that vaporises or a radio active poison like polonium 210. You inhale you are gone my friend.

This should be expected. We dwell in things like this. The man was sick. He was given medical permission to go back to performing. He died on stage probably due to underlined medical conditions that were not addressed while he was in the hospital. Now they claim it was poison. Can the man just die in peace? Now this will trickle down to the family. things like: Someone must want him dead, maybe one of his many wives or baby mamas because of money or jealousy. I think people should accept that he was dead due to medical reasons.

My contribution here is not to argue on what can kill a person or not. Yes you can be poisoned but why would someone go to the extent of getting obviously a dangerous and expensive chemical and use it to kill an elderly Congolese musician who is no enemy to anyone and killing him in a foreign country in front of hundreds of spectators and millions of tv viewers since it was being broadcast live, that is my only argument. For the guy to be swapping mics, it means he was sent by the sound engineer who would normally be having a clear view of the stage  and his technicians and handymen are around the stage ready to intervene in case of any technical issues so unless the guy changing the mic colluded with security and technical team. He has an ID hanging over his neck it means he was security screened.

Some Congolese I met was saying he was involved in many deals so probably a failed deal led to the poisoning.
