Un Garcon de suisse, from kolo mboka de Zaiko Langa Langa is a song I keep on playing every day, thanks to Kaisala, one runba expert in town. This is what I call a sebene.......balanced vocals, lovely easy solo there and most importantly, meri jo bilobi's drum work. Segiun maniata should take a leaf. This album was definitely a bomb, thanks to nyoka longo for keeping the fire burning to this date.

I am loving Zaiko day in day out. Merci boku Zaiko.....merci mingi.

I don't know but Zaiko's music never got into me, i guess i was a typical Wenge & TPOK Jazz fan. I found Zaiko's sebene to be more like soukous and i am one person who has never liked soukous.

I am shocked sly. Zaiko LL music is too different from soukous music. From my own understanding,  typical soukous is yondo sister and her brothers like shimita el diego, alain kounkou, sakis, alouse mabele ets while modified soukouse comes from pepe kalle and kanda bongo man which is why the two captured a lot interested parties or fans. Zaiko is in the group, nguasuma, something that wenge is best at.

I have followed Zaiko from the days of familia dei vs nkolo mboka and I have enjoyed their music.

I didn't remember this song, but good seben indeed. My personal favourite from this album is Pamadi, though:

Mudala, it's simply because of the sebene that I didn't appreciate zaiko, some of the sebene was okay but most of it at the time was too fast for my liking so I didn't see the difference between Zaiko and the likes of Diblo Dibala etc
The thing is that my father was a hardcore TPOK Jazz fan and he owned every single record released by TPOK in all formats. My father used to DJ and like me as a hobby in his free time so he played music too much and even went to the extent of putting speakers in the bathroom so he could hear music so you can imagine just how much me and my siblings went through,we were literally baptised into rhumba odemba. We also listened to the likes of Johnny Bokelo, Pepe Kalle, Papa Wemba etc then later, he introduced us to Koffi Olomide ,Kanda Bongoman etc.
After my father died came Wenge Musica and by then we had choices so Wenge's music took me and that's how I got hooked,by then I didn't understand that there was competition between Zaiko and Wenge or any of the rivalry between bands.

That album is their best production so far, to my mind. Very good engineering work, nice melodies. I would also mention that among the top 10 Congolese productions of all time. It should be in the basic stock of every online music store.

Indeed. Lots of funding went into that album during production in 94-95 (maybe too much funding). Nyoka Longo was keen on proving to critics that Zaiko was not a shadow of it's former self.

The quality and success of album silenced critics for a short while, but his inability to top Avis de recherche along with more departures due financial issues confirmed the decline of Zaiko in terms of international fame.
