Indeed, Choc Stars' chrous is my favorite ever, nothing comes close. Debaba, Carlito Lassa, Def Defao, Germain Kanza, Nzaya, & Petit Prince. Their melody was so smooth and always sync. No big egos, just pure talent and superb leadership from Ben Nyamabo.

In addition to the magician Ya Roxy, there was the one of the best rhythmist of the time, Teddy Acompa, Djo Mali the great bassist, and Djujuchet, the man who has the most drumming credits ever in African music. What a lineup.

The youth don't know about the impact they had in the 80's & 90's, even on here, hence the lack of responses.

This forum is saturated with 4th and 5th generation fans...Wenge Musica and Quartier Latin are dead...I guess no one bothers with what was the golden era of Congolese music the 80s and 90s..The harmony Choc stars had was magically, I wish they had better production on their albums.
I truly believe today's generation of musicians don't put more time into their craft...They don't understand music composition thus creativity is stagnant. How much tcha tcho can we endure??   

My favorite  song taty konde ... my dad had had dj play it on my wedding day .. i almost cried, so much memories.  That is what i call a band. Perfection to 100%. I miss these guys
