Prince Pegguy Ley, aka the Fils à Papa when it comes to having a similar voice to Tabu Ley. An album (fall 2016) with so much variety and great compositions and sound. Also, the distinct rarity of having both Papa Wemba and Koffi Olomide featured on the album. Other artists would kill for that opportunity

This is the problem I have with most of these young guys (5gen and onwards). They don't realize that releasing an album is only half the job, the other part is a good promotional campaign and maintaining relevance.

One of the best examples of RNB/rhumba:

Two solid génériques; one with Kabuya.

Really good album, did good with mixing R&B and Rhumba. Sucks this album hasn't been well received commercially.

Koffi's quote of Europe being a "graveyard" for Congolese musicians pops into my head every time something like this happens

And literally 95% of his former musicians are in the graveyard in Europe performing at those small ass bars or cafes lol
