True. I remember he released that single "silikoti" me thinking now we gonna get an album and then he went dead silent. If he were consistent JDT would be at the level of Ferre and Fally musically.

Not sure if this is debatable, but I beg to differ.  I like JDT, I've always liked his music and Examen is probably one of the best songs out of A La Que Leu and should've been a classic (Werra destroyed it with the mabanga overdubs overpowering the singers), but let's not kid ourselves, JDT is not a great singer, limited and lazy at best, and is probably not even a good band leader (i.e. Les Marquis).  He was even supposed to keep Les Marquis going after Ferre and Bill left but used session musicians and singers for Moleki Nzela (great album btw).

As an artist/composer I'll give JDT his props, but for a guy who's been in the business nearly 30 years and has only released a maxi single and one full album, doesn't really say much about his star power, unlike Ferre & Fally who are both best known for their tremendous vocal abilities and get more opportunities to make money.
