K.O. Debout (Carte Jaune) was a good album, but not well promoted. It was better if Wenge EL Paris returned to Kinshasa to promote that album or Marie Paul returning by his own. The album flopped very hard and Marie Paul became a big joke. The tour they had in Europe was a big flop. The Carre Magique and Academia had everything in their hands in Europe. Nobody took him serious anymore and the beef with journalist Zacharie Bababaswe before the release made worser. I remember Marie Paul blaming Claude Mussay and co that they were corrupted by Werrason and his staff/donors and they did witchcraft on that album. He attacked Werrason very hard in that albums on many songs and claimed that he started sacrifing people of his own family and made a disssong against him called Jalousie.

Wenge EL Paris had good singers Charly Chaplin, Kene Kene, Arc En Ciel, etc. They could easily against the musicians of QL, Nouvelle Ecrita, Academia, BCBG, Maison Mere. But people didn't really know them, having bad luck that Marie Paul lost his fame at the moment that he wanted to showcase them. This album had to confirm lead-guitarist Pitshou Santiago as big solist after having made a his name known on Couvre Feu.
What made Wenge EL Paris stay in Europe ? Was it that they had a big debt to the guy who brought them to Europe and organised their tour because of those low attendence at their concerts ? Or was it that Marie Paul wanted the whole band to get European-papers so that he could return easily with them after 2 or 1 years to Kinshasa and returing back to Paris without problems and asking visa's ? So sad how his own musicians turned against him, started to disrepect him with them leaving him one by one and him starting to lose his head. He was lucky that his friend Zacle saved him and gave him the idea to return to Kinshasa. But he was sadly not the same Roi Pele anymore which he used to be in the years 92-00.
