Yep. That concert failed because of 9/11. The paranoia was total, cops were all over Paris. So a lot of people decided to stay at home, especially those without papers. Don't even think about people coming from other countries.

I always wondered why JB did not postpone the concert. Was it his decision to play or the producer's?

It was Badive who was his official producer. The event was already announced in March 2001 when he was giving his goodbye-concert at Elysee Montmarte. He spent 6 months promoting the event. The event was more promoted then that of Werrason. If he cancelled the event then Badive would have lost alot of money. The ngulu’s had also already paid their money to come on the Bercy-list. Werrason and Koffi Olomide would have mocked JB if the event was cancelled. JB Mpiana had to perform there to prove them a point. There  were  rumors about that  they almost denied BCBG visa’s with Sankara them mocking on tv. But they received it finally 1/2 weeks before the event. The press who was pro-Werra started with nasty reports, saying that they got the musichall with help of fans who collected money to perform there bla bla bla. They made a very big party when they heard that Bercy wasn’t sold out and started to mock JB months long, but JB made a big revenge by perform at Stade des Martyrs with an attendence of 250.000 which was then a record.
