Blaise's album is officially a commercial flop, no ones talking about it.. he's barely promoted it he hasn't even gone back to kin to promote it. I'm actually livid because this is the best album released in years and finally brought back the wenge rhythm and also a nice balanced rhumba and sebene. With fally releasing control and so on this album just got lost, Matebu remember we were fearing this would happen. Im honestly so disappointed with blaise.

I don't know if I can place the blame on Fally's album, even if it's partial blame.  Fally's album is not even 2 months old, Blaise's album has been out for months.  I think we're kidding ourselves if we believe that the Congolese millennial want to listen to records of a 50 year old who's lukewarm in the business.  It's a great album don't get me wrong, but aside from him being a hard worker, why is Fabregas' music getting more Youtube hits than Blaise?  It's like if Carl Thomas released an album to compete with Chris Brown.  Blaise should be acquiring and building talent. His time to promote himself as a solo artist has come and gone.

Rendekita is still a top album that deserves its praise, especially in the face of today's musical landscape, but it pains me to say that it was unfortunately doomed to be a commercial flop from the start.

That is sad! Me being a millennial this was definitely more exciting than Fally's Cobtrol. Control was good but lacks the proper congolese formula.

The problem with this industry is that the new generation isn't producing quality albums at a consistent rate. In the previous generations, the new groups were producing quality, so there wasn't such a reliance on the old heads to produce quality albums. Now we do, so that's the unfortunate reality. So when things like this happens it really affects us in a negative way.

Guys I been hurt by the same thing Rendekita is without doubt a top album. Does anyone has Blaise Bulas numbers, he can drop it on my cell @ +27 82 831 5907. Time one needs to call these guys. I really want to have a chat with him

The issue is that my generation are too much into gimmicks only and that is killing Congolese music so much. But it is not unique in Congo. It is also true in other countries such as my country USA. That is why albums like this get overlooked. That is the truth.

I remember the years when albums were being released that were very powerful. Sebenes sebenes and sebenes. Congolese are starting to lose direction on what to do. Blaise Bula had the right formula with Rendekita ( also his other releases).  Also there are many artists that I'm wandering where they are: Suzuki 4x4, stino mubi, Marie Paul etc. There are many others I can't think of now.

Don't blame it on Blaise Bula
1. He is around 50 right? Probably with wife and kids and with no need of money he does music only for passion
2. Blaise is under a label, and when it is like that it is the label homework to promote their artist
3. Kin and Congo right now are not in a very good position for people living outside unless you wanna make business outside of music so I understand his choice to not go there.
4. Albums and so on are slowly dying, streaming totally killed album concept, and with Congo having only 30% of internet and Blaise work8ng with a non Congolese/African based label they do not know how to work things in Congo.
5. It is not Fally or Ferre or Fabro etc. Rendekita came out when allcthe big albuns were already released or about to be released it is just that Blaise and his management failed to adapt to this tine, just like JB still think he has the same success of Titanic, times change and if you don't know how to adapt, you will not succeed.

It's purely failure of the artist and his label to use marketing tools effectively. It's the same trap Wenge BCBG are in and what makes it worse is their lack of consistency with releases, you can't release an album every decade and expect to be relevant in your marketing environment. People want to see what you're up to on a daily basis, rehearsals, you going to church, you eating with your family,playing on skateboards, you in studio etc, they want to see you active every week so that they are connected with you,once you're in sync, it's easier to sell that is what the likes of Ferre,Faly,Fabregas,Werrason and Koffi are capitalizing on in order to stay relevant and popular.

No piracy killed the album concept. Streaming is allowing these artists to eat properly. Remember it was just 10 years ago, many of us in the African diaspora were complaining about paying $20 for an album each time a new release would come in.  In Congo, on the other hand, pirated albums were at an all time high.  The artists weren't eating so they had to rely on concerts in Europe.  Then the Combattants ruined it.  Sly is absolutely right that Blaise's social media presence is lacking and we've only seen 3 albums from Blaise in nearly 20 years.  It's almost like he doesn't care.  Online streaming is allowing these guys to make money again, especially with the lack of concerts abroad. 

Another thing, a lot of Wenge Musica's original fan base, have defected over to gospel music.  Blaise should've gotten better promoters to attract those young millenials who don't know or listen to him but follow Werra, JB and Koffi.

It goes back to my original point, if you're over 40 and lukewarm in the business, you can come out with fire but you have to sustain the momentum.

Another factor is that he still hasn't released clips only for Alexandrine, ahhh what's with these wenge guys especially coming those that came from bcbg they all do the similar things when it comes to releasing and promoting... Blaise, Makaba, Afande, Aimelia, JB.

The promotion of this album was incredibly poor I'm certain most people don't know it's even out, like I've said before I wouldn't have known if it wasn't for Archos.
