Washington could have saved Wenge Tonya Tonya on the next record if he stayed, because back in the days it was all about sebenes and generiques. Wenge Tonya Tonya was still Wenge Tonya Tonya after Lacoste's depature, they didn't had the same fame like in 2001 but they were still strong. The problem was just that Maison Schengen denied them visa's for a tour in Europe in the summer of 2003 (Adolphe then claiming that it was all because of Koffi) and the flop of 25 Minutes Jugement Dernier.
Washington joined Quartier Latin because Koffi was angry that Adolphe recruited his dancers Chouchou Mbayo, Midi Kompressor and Miss Coulibaly who he left behind in Kinshasa for his tour in Europe (2002-03). So he promised that he would destroy Wenge Tonya Tonya. So he already sent some money which made him join Quartier Latin when Koffi and co returned to Kinshasa, but they were barely using him despite Kerozene's departure, having then also CNN who just returned and later Apocalyps and Acide joining.
Washington wasn't familiar with Quartier Latin. It was other way around. It were Kerozene and Brigade who were familair with Wenge Tonya Tonya. They were recruited by songwriter Eldorado who recruited the whole Tonya Tonya-squad. But Brigade and Kerozene made the mistake by going home while they intensively rehearsing in Binza (also sleeping, eating there,..). So when they returned they weren't allowed by bodyguards to come in. They after that took the cries of Washington and Petit Chirac to Quartier Latin and animated it there (Mbuta Fulbert, Benga petit momie, sani eleli, etc.) which didn't please the Tonya-Tonya camp.
