Looks like he focused the promotion of his album more on the African English speaking countries, the West Indies and the African diaspora in France with the 4 generics and one coupe decale track he made on that album instead of promoting the also very heavy in Kinshasa and letting those ndombolo/rumba tracks also being promoted. But atleast he got nominted by the Kora Awards and toured around Africa and Surinam. It's a shame that there wasn't an album that followed 2/3 years after it.








There was a singer in his band, who's voice sounds like a mix of Soleil Wanga and Fally Ipupa.

Love this album. I remember when my family used to watch the DVD together almost every month. I always thought Onze Onze was arranged in the style of the Parisian soukous sound of the 90s (opening sebene with animation, followed by a minute or so of singing, and back to sebene).

Maybe because they didn't sample anything, but just recorded straight with guitars, bass and drums. Djuna invited an Ivorian guy on that song (the guy himself was very happy and proud to be invited by him, because he grew up with Ce Chale Carnaval, Pon moun paka Bouge and La Rumba).

I'm sorry I took Onze Onze for 100% TVA. Yeah, Onze Onze was Soukous like the tracks Tonerre de Brest and Fin du Match. 100% TVA was Coupe Decale. I will listen to it now, haven't heard it since years.

DC10 who was Djuna's musician he played on the generic & Respect Pepe Kalle and Caien Madoka (who corrected many parts of the rest of the songs who were recorded in Kinshasa and played those distortion parts). There is a part I think the song Tatou where Caien is about the play the distortion and Djuna then mentioning "Aah Caien Madoka Mpeva Longo"

What happened to this guy after this album?

From 2004 to 2011 he toured to several African countries. Since 2009 he was working to an album called Foudre which is never released on the market. In 2011 he was victim of a big car accident when he was on his way to return to Kinshasa after having performed in Mbanza Kongo (Angola). I remember him in 2005 working on a remix-album of Cocktail with Lofombo, but it ended up in a fight between both guys in the studio, which made the project getting cancelled. Djuna lives in the U.K. and performs every summer in festival. Since 2017 he announced a new album called Boom, but that is also still not released.
