I forgot that they credited Mabiala’s song to Kabose who was his replacement. It was bad enough Serge was barely performing during that tour and barely participated in the album due to his problems back in Congo, but to credit his song to someone else is harsh, especially now that he can’t even claim that song back to him at SACEM even though it’s credited to Werra but Kabose could if he wanted to.

When I listened to Jugement Dernier for the first time in a while, I could feel Serge's presence. In hindsight, him not being credited on his own song was a sure sign that he was being 12'd. The way Kabose was simply credited as Kabose says a lot about the situation.

Yeah man. I believe it is alleged he caused a death to a friend by a vehicle? What I do remember hearing years ago is that he’s in exile in Europe. If he returns to Kin he’s a marked man. It’s sad, he’s resorted to doing work as a session vocalist. His solo album is a classic.

He even said that it happened right before the Double Zenith concert if I remember well and while he was being held in custody, his mother asked him to say the truth whether he had anything to do with the the death to which he strongly denied and then his mother told him that if he is not involved in the death of the guy, he will surely make it for the tour but if he is then he won't make it. He says he regrets not having helped the family of the guy on the funeral arrangements but he is aware that Werrason gave them something like $700 for the funeral.

To be honest. I think is a case of failed execution. With that I mean that maybe he wanted to sacrifice his friend for future success, but since he didn't manage to sacrifice properly Werra in his spiritual world got mad with him and humiliate him. It happened also to a very famous Atalaku who was in a very young and popping group who failed to sacrifice his brother who was also a musiciam. The Atalaku's boss got mad at him for not sacrificimg the guy properly and just stop taking his phonecalls and forced him out of the group.

Because even though Serge Mabiala doesn't seem like the type (he looks more like a professor than a musician) we must not forget that every ex member who got questioned by interviewers about the spiritual world got always replied to that WMMM is one of the group with the strongest bad Nkisi (Nkisi can be good) in Congo. So it is just weird to me that Serge Mabiala has nothing to do with his friend's death. A lot of people forget this but Weenge Musica 4x4 history started with a ritual homicide.

The story is that Werra, JB and others went to see a NgangaNkisi (which simply means Healer but took the negative term with colonization) that asked them if they wanted fsme, power, momey and success and they all said yes, so the NgangaNkisi asked them to sacrifice a group member for the success, so after agreeing the Nganga Told that the first guy who would go to reharsal the next day in a car will die. And the day later a member who hadn't partecipate on the meeting with the Nganga died and so they pubblished their first album and it was an instant success. My mom told me that you could even cooking food and left the food to burn because you felt.like you wanted to dance and other stories like this. Till to these day there isn't a group that is more credited than Wenge.


I know that the guy of going to the car in  reharsals died but I don't know if it was related to the Nganga or not. But knowimg what I know now.of.course it is.

That story is fake, because otherwise it have created a scandal in Bandal, since they used to rehearse in Dimbamboma. Also their first album was not a big succes when it came out, despite being voted as “revelation de l’annee” the year before. Btw the way it took them 1 year to get it in the market, because the recordlabel didn’t trust then  until they got convinced by Defao. The album became a succes after 1 year, when JB, Werra, Makaba & Masela got arrested when they tried to get in Europe and the press and public suddenly giving them alot of attention. The guy who died in Wenge was guitarist Blaise Kombo, but he didn’t die in a rehearsal, he died in a big car-accident after performing in Nsele along with his friend who brought his fiancee and two others. But that was just after being voted as Champion du Zaïre (1989-1990) and they were then not about to record an album.

Yes, its true. But he wasn’t the only one, Adjani, Flamme Kapaya & Japonais wanted also to stay in Europe. Adjani & Serge Mabiala were really about to settle in Europe, but they were convinced by those madame ya poto return (Sometimes I wonder if they weren’t kidnapped like the generation of Depixk & Fabregas or Academia). Flamme Kapaya & Japonais didn’t want to return becausebecause of the payments, and because of all their stuff, money and clothes being stolen in their house where used to live  by those New Jack-gangsters. Werrason who was already in Kinshasa with a big part of Maison Mere, calmed them down through a donor and promised to pay them, which made them return 2 weeks later along with Adjani (Shora Mbonda had also to take the same flight, but he dissapeard kiekiekiekie) . But Werrason didn’t held his promise, which made Flamme Kapaya not being motivated anymore to give his fully 100%. You will notice that his way of playing in the shows after their return (Abidjan, FIKIN, GHk, Kenya) is very different from the shows close to Double Zenith.
