That tweet is soo silly, everyone knows East Africans love Congolese music and diamond is the most popular artist in Tanzania so that combination will always do a lot of views. People who make such comments have no clue about the context and history of African music now and historically that is one of the silliest comments ( If robinio wants success to be back to old levels he should do a feature with diamond though ?)

some guys still does not understand that those certifications are becoming more and more country-centered, you get gold diamond silver platinum in france when you reach those sales in france you can sell a million in bangladesh it counts 0 in france ,i am sure its the same in UK and in states,the same people if diamond or any african artist announces he went gold in africa would laugh at him and say its a pityful PR stunt
and about diamond putting congolese music on the map,funny aint it that he put congo on the map whereas his feat with congolese made and are on the way of making again more views than his collabs with rick ross and co
i think the real reason is that eastern africa is more into youtube and so on that central africa, even innoss with the original yo pe he keeps saying until today that the first feedback he received when he was fearing the song would flop as it coincided with arafat's death was from east africa
not bashing diamond though in any way  proper artist, the fact his collabs with congolese artist succeed just shows to congolese artists who they are forgetting they are  and often going for the wrong formulas in their individual careers to  conquer africa
 all the three collabs which did well are dance songs  so its nothing more than diamond's strength plus the fact that african people know love and
respect congolese musicians for their dancing skills(not saying rumba is unknown)

You are very right Archos, Congolese Music is very revered in East Africa, so any colabo between a Congolese artist and an East Africa one will become a hit. The only problem is that Congo is no longer producing powerful Sebenes like in the 90s and 2000s. The current releases do not match the likes of Loi, Solola Bien, TH or Etat Major. The congolese musicians have shifted their focus to Rumba. I like Rumba but the majority here do not understand a word and since it is not danceable they just ignore. The current generation of Fally, Ferre and Heriter needs to reconsider their strategy if they really want to reclaim the position of congolese Music in Africa. Let us be honest, I have listened to the latest release of Heritier. You can not compare it to the likes of Loi and Pentagon that were released 23 years ago. The current music should have been better.

The standard was very high, listen to Papa Plus, V12. What has gone wrong, other countries music has evolved but the Congolese is stagnating why?
