Every where Congolese artists performed in Africa they left a virus, even in countries like Madagaskar and Cape Verde and the same thing happened in Colomia where multiple soukous-artists performed. Nowadays you have there a music-genre called Champeta which has his roots from Congolese music and Colombian also doing sebene. Thinking about that made me wonder why don't have the same thing in Brazil. Because I remember Congolese artists like Franco Luambo Makiadi (having performed there in the 60s), Tabu Ley in the 80s, Evoloko in 1988 having performed there and multiple soukous artists during the late 80s and 90s. Is it Brazilians are very proud of their culture like people from the French West Indies (Martinique, Guadeloupe, Saint Martin & French Guyane) who are really attached to Zouk, despite Zaiko Langa Langa, Pepe Kalle, Aurlus Mabele, Dr Sakis, Awilo Longomba, Diblo Dibala, Alain Konkou, etc. having performed there multiple times.
