He was victim of a stroke. Back then he had some difficulties with talking and one arm (I think the left one) not working anymore.

It's always funny/strange to hear those stories how congolese people manage to date women abroad altough not knowing the language. Zimbabwe was so lucky to date that army-officer in Zambia.

I would like to see a part 2, to let him speak the way bendoson, pompim miyake and ramazani left, the era from a la une to papa wemba's arrestation.
Because the journalist immediatly asked him about Wemba's death after explaining how Papa Wemba accepted Anya Star as Fioti Fioti while Lambio Lambio first refused because of her young age and about to beat her for dancing with the fioti fioti's at molokai.

I was surprised to hear that him and Alpatchino were not susposed to be at Zenith 1999. This made me wonder how the album Fula Ngenge would be without Alpathcino. I don't see Pathy Patcheko, Bogus, Liberateur or Iboss being able to do those cri's, so they would likely just do animation d'ensemble like in 'L and use the cri's of Viva la Musica "cour des grands" along with "mutu nguba bazo tinda yo".

Intresting to hear that Christian Lema rehearsed with them the same day when they arrived to perform with them later that night at Zenith de Paris. Zimbabwe learning him how to dance the dances Nsu-nsegele, yo bazo tinda, etc. A part of the rehearsal used to be one youtube where zimbabwe and bendoson are dictating maradona how to drum because of deo sfr not being there and wemba asking bendoson how the prepared the show in kinshasa, but it sadly dissapeared from youtube. This interview really gave me the desire to see VHS Number One - volume 2 which had the part of Nouvelle Ecriture at Zenith on it. That VHS is really rare like volume 1 who isn't on youtube anymore.

Why did Bogus leave Nouvelle Ecriture after Fula Ngenge? And was he in any group before joining BCBG?

He left because he feltlike they weren't given him enough recognition. Also Wemba's staff in Kinshasa was given the whole band a hard time in Papa Wemba's absence. He was already frustatred that they didn't show his face in the videoclip of Fula Ngenge when doing his vocal and they left him behind when Nouvelle Ecriture when to tour to some African countries. So he decided to leave the band. Papa Wemba and influent fans/donors from Europe tried to influence to stay, saying that he couldn't while having 2 songs in A La Une but he refused. They contacted JB Mpiana to not recruit him if he would try to join Wenge BCBG. Bogus then started preparing his solo-album (I forgot the title) and if I remember well he already started some pre-recordings in Kinshasa at Studio Meko. Later on he said that he would record his in Europe with help from Wenge BCBG. However, when Wenge BCBG was in Europe to tour, he came to inform the press that he started rehearsing with the PPU's and joined Wenge BCBG. Him saying that he decided to join BCBG instead of finishing his album, because guys like Gentaminicine, Alain Mpela and Titina being busy with buying cars. Could also be that JB Mpiana and Bogus did a trick with that album to distract Viva-fans or JB convincing Bogus that recording an album doesn't make any sense. Like the way he used to say years long that it wouldn't make any sense for youngsters to create bands and try to breakthrough in the Congolese music-scene and that it was better to join the PPU's or other established bands.

Why a lot of the older generation guys have this concept that going solo and not joining bands after you leave a band is a failure ? I remember when Capuccino left Ado Yuhe interviewed him asking him why did he left? And if Fally inspire him to leave

It’s because of Fally’s succes with Droit Chemin. Before that it was not a problem to join a different band, because nobody was believing in succeeding as a solo-artist, only as a band

Al Pacino would never earn the respect he later earned in Nouvelle Ecriture because of his work, if he really joined Quartier Latin if Wemba left him behind for Zénith and not changed his mind on the last minute

Another questione I wanted To ask, is why Male dancers are disappearing except for Lambio Lamboo who is Old Zimbabwe who is Old and Mulala and Trezeguet who are tetting older there aren't a lot of male dancers anymore, why that? QL had Landry Japonais but I don't know where he is at now

I've never heard of Trezeguet.

We live in a different era. Nowadays many dont even know the names of female dancers, guitarists and singers. So that of male dancers would be really hard. Another thing is that back in the 90s, bands like Wenge 4x4, Big Stars from 1996 Quatier Latin (for short period 1995-96) and Wenge El Paris (just wanting to copy Wenge 4x4) had male dancers in their bands as official members those of Wenge 4x4 and Big Stars being even more known female dancers of other bands. While nowadays its rare to see a band with male dancers as official members



Lambio Lambio has a long career. He used to dance for Abeti Masinki and in nightclubs, he was also close to artist like Franco, Papa Wemba and King Kester Emeneya. He later become choreographer and bandleaders started to hire him to train their dancers for big events and videoclips. For example, the cheography of the singers and dancers of Koffi in Loi was done by Lambio Lambio. The cheography of the singers/dancers during the intro of JB Mpiana's Zenith was also done by him. Lambio Lambio name became really famous because of the way Wemba started to give him shout-outs, calling him on stage and often crediting him for recruiting ba chance eloko (the dancers of 'L), the Fioti's Fioti and Ba Nions Nions (the team of Bakala dia Kuba, Bazonkion and Somo Trop). That's why people can't forget while late Kinsekwa (who was also a cheographer and the same generation of Lambio) isn't that known like him.

People can't forget Zimbabwe because he went with Wemba mutiple times to Europe, appeared often in clips, also did many interviews on tv and during those events at Zenith, Olympia and Bercy they would give him space to do his own stuff and the presentor presenting him.



The same for Mulala. Although running away immediatly from the first tour with Wenge 4x4. But there were also people who didnt know his name until return back to Wenge BCBG and dancing like a crazy during interviews that Gentamicine would have with journalists. I'm still looking for that interview Gentamicine did with I think Tony Nkonko or Viriginie Manganga and him dancing on the cri Selembao. I couldn stop laughing.
