I’ve noticed that bandleaders who came from groups (Tabu Ley, Madilu, or King Kester Emeneya) make their bandmembers suffer more than their former bosses did. I don’t understand why Emeneya kept speaking badly about Papa Wemba, while he himself behaved even worser.





It's a shame that Eldorado and Babel left Victoria Eleison early. I have never seen the VHS of Emeneya performing at Palais du Peuple, just some extracts on Martin Sinnock's channel. According to Sampaio, when doing his interview with Mbuta Likasu, Emeneya chased Eldorado away saying that he sings like an Arab. But I'm surprised to hear Guy Moller saying that he was still around but left later. In another interview (I think before Covid), Guy Moller said that Babel left because of him once saying to Emeneya that he wasn't singing well during rehearshal and him being fired for that comment. But I'm surprised to hear him say that he doesn't know the reason of his departure.
