Franco must felt something bad from Nyoka Longo. I believe that Franco not only helped create Langa Langa Stars to punish Zaiko and Papa Wemba due to his collaboration with Tabu Ley Rochereau but also probably got Pepe Felly to create Grand Zaiko. I think Franco's demand at Verckys is the likely reason why Nyoka Longo and Verckys became enemies for a long time.

Franco hadn't anything to do with that. Oncle Bapius said in a recent interview with Mr la Rumba that when the instruments finally arrived in Kinshasa that Mobutu paid the customs and that they took them from Franco (as he was the president of UMUZA). Maybe that Franco was happy that Zaiko was down, but it was not that he had a hand in the "coup d'etat".

It was that Verckys was mad that Zaiko didn't want to accept the slave-contract he offered them. Seeing that Evoloko had alot of succes with his song Fievre Mondo, which came out on his label, he contacted him to create a band with other Zaiko-members. Evoloko wasn't feeling comfortable anymore in Zaiko since Manuaku's departure, saw it as a good opportunity to leave and started contacting different singers and instrumentalists. But most of them refused, only Bozi accepting it with some hesitation, since that he promised to the fans that he wouldn't leave Zaiko anymore. Later on, Djo Maly also accepted the offer, he was joined by some other Zaiko-members, but they ended up by changing there mind last minute. Verckys then merged them with Esperant Kisangani, Dindo Yogo and Djuna Djanana, who came from Viva la Musica. It's only after creating Langa Langa Stars and enjoying that they discovered that the contract was a big trap. On Zaiko's side they tried to stay independent, but they were still renting Verckys instruments until that Verckys humilated them. There are two versions about it; one being that they planned a concert and late Denewade taking the instruments away and another being that they paid the money, but the instruments not being offered. The incident then making them decide to wait for the instruments, believing that they would arrive soon, but them instead coming after 9 months. The hiatus made them not being able to perform and them having financial difficulties. As Roxy Tshimpaka originally accepted Verckys offer to join Langa Langa Stars, but not joined them, he still ending up by joining after a some months due to the financial difficulties.

About Papa Wemba, Esperant Kisangani, Dindo Yogo and Djuna Djanana went to get their money from the songs they recorded with Verckys and weren't happy for the way Papa Wemba wasn't paying them enough money. They made clear to him that they wanteed to leave and Verckys saw it as an occasion to punish Papa Wemba. According to some people of these era, Papa Wemba humilated him by not accepting his contract-offer, while he already mobilized the press for to present him as part of his label VEVE. Few months before it a big part of the band already tried to leave Viva la Musica, but it didn't work because they were snitched by Fafa de Molokai and Pepe Bipoli.

As the guys (Djuna, Esperant and Dindo) came on the same moment as Evoloko and co to his office, Verckys asked them first to get Emeneya to form Viva Viva Stars as he was about to form Langa Langa Stars. But the guys said that Emeneya would never leave Papa Wemba and that it was just better to merge them with Evoloko. For whatever reason Emeneya suddenly joined them and he would be followed by Patcho Star, Huits Kilos and Beniko Popolipo. But the last 3 guys wouldn't get the privilege to be a 'patron'. However, Emeneya would leave them quickly just before their 'sortie officiel' with Huits Kilos and Patcho Star joining him, after the intervention of Franco, since that Wemba asked for help to get Dindo and Emeneya back for him.
