Emo you are wrong. Papa Wemba is the top five singers in Congolese music. How can you say he is average. I understand if you said Pepe Kalle or Koffi Olomide or Franco or even Papy Tex. But why Papa Wemba.

Papa wemba is a great singer but his not the best vocalists no way. if you look at the 1st voice singers in the zaiko generation i don't think his the best because in my opinion vocally speaking i think Debaba, Evoloko, Petit Prince, Luciana and Defao are better vocalists going down to wenge generation manda chante, ferre, chokoro (at his prime) along with adjani at his prime are better than papa wemba

For sure there are better singers than him in Congo and more will be born but the fact remains that at this present time he's one of the best singers out of Congo. He's one man who can wow the crowds all by himself accompanied by a guitarist playing an acoustic guitar.
