If i recall well, split of zaiko happened after this concert

Zaiko was at that time on the peak of his International succes and the band that was a big threat to Kassav's succes, they perfomed as first Congolese band in Japan (just before Papa Wemba and Rumba Ray) and the French Antilles (Guadeloupe & Martinique). Their album Nippon Banzai from 1986 which boosted their international succes even more went gold and they planned a concert at Zenith de Paris, but the split ruined everything. I'm sure that if it was Quartier Latin or Victoria Eleison, Koffi or Emeneya (R.I.P.) would brag about it on tv everytime.
 
Zaiko splitted in mai 1988, with a war between Ilo Pablo(who was supported by DV Muanda's family) and Nyoka Longo(supported by the Moleka's). I think that Nono's decision to stay on Nyoch side was, saved them alot otherwise it would be every difficult to beat Familia Dei who had a better team.

exactly and i saw a video of bebe atalaku recently where he said him and nono and all those who were not big stars in zaiko and who followed the guys of familia dei got paid money to do it and nono took money but changed his mind at last minute
funny how in every split almost there is at least one case like that

Oufff the Story behind Zaiko LL split!! Brings me back to early 2000, I was having a debate with My dad's cousin(R.I.P). The subject Was"which Split shook the congolese music and had an impact" I was defending the Wenge Split and he was for the Zaiko LL(split of Nkolo Mboka and FD)

From that debate I actually learned a lot about Zaiko LL(it turned out to be true what he was saying)...According to him,among the stuff that led to Zaiko LL split there was: JP Buse solo Album(he got suspended, and so did Beniko Popolipo), Ilo Pablo snitching on Nyoka Longo to their Gabonese Sponsor, and there was also something about money from that Euro-Asia tours and the albums sale(Nippon Banzai,Subissez Les Conséquences) that some Band Members never received

Nono wasn't the only one that took familia Dei money but remained with Jossart...Mbuta Matima,according to my Uncle, was supposed to go to(can't remember if it was Bimi or Lengos who told him that)

yeah also a part from that they'd have got a contract with tf1 to replace kassav got to sign with  sony music  or another major  i dont remember well,and every member would receive exactly the same salary monthly which some of the long serving members refused because they'd be on same level with the younger ones

Yeah that's true man I remember JP Buse's interview where he said that the album Subissez Les Conséquences was one of the reasons of Zaiko's split, because guys like Bimi Ombale, Lengi Lenga and Dindo Yogo didn't knew that Nyoka Longo, Oncle Bapius, Zamwangana, Mbuta Matima & Meridjo were benefiting from their copyrights in Europa through Nyoch's production label Prozal(Production Zaiko L.L.).
