It seems like Wemba had like 20 groups and what were the bands called and what was their purpose? And when Wemba had concerts which one did he take?

Too much groups 

The Legends (Viva La Musica Cour des Grands) 1977 till present likes of Jadot le Cambodgien, Djuna Djanana, Gloria and co., the older generation which passed from the 70s till mid 90s and present obviously.

The 5th Generation version of Viva La Musica (Nouvelle Ecrita) 1997 till present likes of Bendoson, Pompom Miyake, Tosha Fulakanda and co. (the Quartier Latin/Wenge/Maison Mere/El Paris version of Viva)

The Europeans Viva Tendance likes of Mamale Tupac, Champion, Guejo Star & co (artist from Europe contributed when Papa Wemba was released from prison in 2003)

Bana Malongi obviously the current group the Papa Wemba used before his death likes of Boa Vida, Djo le Noir, Archange and co.

Lol those were Papa Wemba's guys to compete with the very strong Quatier Latin and Maison Mere they look like the same generation as Wwmba himself lol. So why did he make Bana Malongi? And what happend to Viva Tendance? And there was also an old video with the young Abel De Charme of Bcbg and Vibration of Ferre's group.

bana malongi was technically a new generation of musicians,all younger than the previous ones,a bit like first class was
actually bcbg kinda reproduced exactly papa wemba's system without giving different group names guys of the 40's(even 53 for ficarre),of the 30's,20's and younger ones all under the same leader
lol dont be harsh on the guys they actually competed,except that unlike maison mere and latino the team was not full of very good looking charismatic guys but there was strong talent

Jdog  , never mind appearance in 97' Wenge & Quartier Latin were literally the heavyweights and Papa Wemba had to compete with them new younger squad was needed that's why Nouvelle Ecrita was made and they did very good to compete in that era but anyway that group of abel des charmes and co was 1ere Classe

What was the purpose of 1st class? And was their tension or something between the old ViVa and the Nouvelle one?

i may be from the 5th generation but i never like  nouvelle ecriture  and the rest . cours des grands was and still for me the real viva.
