Being a huge fan of Werra and having a huge passion for atalakus, I never wonderstood why except few cases, when they go solo they never reach the success of the singer gone solo,
Thinking about Fèrre, Fally, from the singer side and Bill, Celeo and Brigade you see that Ferre and Fally had massive success immediatly and they enstablished that during the time while for atalakus except Celeo (who had a really good review of the album [for me] ) and Brigade that had a huge success on his first solo album and had troubles with production releasing the second is hard to think of atalakus who had great careers once they finished their band duties
Kene Kene? Kerozene in Europe, Roi David don't even know where he is now, Tutu Caludji, is not releasing from so much time, Djouna Mumbafu the same? Why atalaku can't start successful bands like singers?

i think its stuck in people's head that atalakus are not leaders so they are not taken seriously,then (with exception of brigade so far)when they become leaders most of them are not great singers or are in competition with more talented and natural singers and people expect them to do rumbas better,then the second factor i see is how most of those guys become very complacent in animation
i always give example of bill who in his 10 years  of solo career has almost never if not never made top 3 of the generiques of any of those years,which is not normal at all

Atalakus cannot make band leaders period !

Atalakus are not successful on solo because they are not doing what they can: animating. They should produce sebene only songs including themselves on animation, similar to Kanda Bongo Man's Iyole or Dyna. A good example for such an atalaku album is Soule Ngofo Man's Le Maillon Fort. Or any album by Dany Engobo, he mostly make sebens with little singing and much animation. If atalakus would produce such albums, they would be more in the front.

Animators can make good leaders but it's just that they have to work harder then when they were employees, they can't be satisfied with being a leader and it's perks they have to work hard that's how Brigade in some sense has had success in his solo career so far.
