Attentat had very agressive and well planned marketing program since Koffi wanted to also wanted to have a gold disc presentation be part of the show program (which was planned almost a year before).
He wanted to prove that he could follow up Droit de Veto and get gold with a (largely) new band. He had key figures employed like Monsoh - to assist with distribution, his close friend Hamed Bakayako - who used to run the very popular Radio Nostalgie to play lots of Koffi and do marketing, and the very influential Photo Joel Mbetenge (though he was a head of Fan Club WMMM) - had large posters and stock of the album in at his record store in Châteaux Rouge.
Germain Mbili of Restaurant Jakarta in London, in addition being a big financier for the concert, sold Attentat in very large amounts, which, for reasons I never looked into, were counted as French album sales.
...But there was also the "fracas" with the with SonoDisc releasing a version Radio and full version. Although Koffi wasn't happy with the abridged songs, many vendors capitalized by selling Version Radio and the full version as 2 separate discs. Since 2 dics CDs were still new, they would repackage the album into 2 individual CDs and sell them each at full price.
