like said in title,brigade said he is working  on a album of only generiques because he is first and foremost an atalaku and whats special about that album is that he'll be doing 10 generiques  of each style,his own style,maison mere's,bcbg's,quartier latin's,cultura's and so on
and robinio also has  6 generiques he is working on as both are eager to really bring drc's music back on top

Well that could be a breath of fresh air, rhumbas are sometimes monotonous and we have missed shaking our waists' a lot. Most of the generiques being produced these days are half baked ando toooooo complicated. I prefer simple gens "talking for myself"
. I feel Robinio, Deplik and Ferre "Boss"  did some nice generiques, not forgetting Monsier, my favorite man in all DRC, Felix Ndlalu Wazekwa on Fimber na Fimbu.

Not good it will be very monotonous. It's better to make an album with 1 or 2 generics and then 7 or 6 sebene songs and 2 rumba's . If they have a generique-album project, then it's better to it like the Fara-Fara concept of 2001 & 2002. Which was reuniting the best atalaku's of Kinshasa and let recording each of them a generic on his own with his band.

Come on now, why aren't sebene songs made anymore. It's the perfect combination of rhumba and sebene. Generiques are all over the place these days and it's supposed to be like a preview for the whole album. It would be easier to make structured sebene songs

Just this week I was thinking if there would be an album just with generiques. Yes Brigade is animator so it makes sense for him to do more sebene. I like the idea but I wish there was more sebene songs from artists these days.

hoping that the sound is as varied as he promises bc while rumbas may be monotonous they at least have extensive lyrics and beautiful vocals to hold me personally. i find generiques generally sound alike and many times are just mad noisy. i dont hate them but i definitely do not prefer them over rumbas. i still look forward to this project and hope it brings more attention to the genre and creativity to generiques

A generique is a song made up of mostly sebene for example Effrakata is a generique while Suivez Le guide is not a full generique even though it has sebene because it has a rhumba inside of the song.

Another example, is the song Operation Dragon is a generique. It basically has fast paced sebene the whole Song. While the song Tave is a sebene, where it starts off slow with rhumba and later goes into a faster tempo with a sebene. So a generique song is full sebene, while a sebene song is half rhumba, half sebene(or generique). Generiques are typically the first song of an album which sets the tone for the rest of the album. Multiple sebene songs are spread throughout the album, but now a days rhumba has completely replaced those sebene spots in albums.

Very good examples from Seben_Maniac. You used my favorite songs by the way..Now I understand better, so I believe I'm a Seben guy Cz I like a bit of rhumba then an increase in tempo..Classic example is Tave. Operation dragon is an album out of this world..Thank you guys.
