he says he heard that some guys around president kabila were strongly against the idea of calling musicians for campaign because it could get them in trouble and thinking about it he regrets that they did not make their statement stronger
and he says to combattants that in usa many stars were for hillary but trump became president which means popularity of those guys did not have massive impact on votes and that if he was them he'd stop the ban in an intelligent way which would almost make them heroes, taking a percentage of concerts as you need funds to maintain any political activity, take time during concerts to talk to people about the problems we have it would be much more classy from them and more efficient that only using force at every opportunity
he says they should realise that  the lack of europe concerts has indirectly caused death of some big stars
in fact he says papa wemba had been in coma and normally you have to take proper rest and avoid being too much on plane,if papa wemba had possibility to play here even in minor halls to continue feeding his family he would not have needed to rush to africa and tour in several countries and same for kester he talked with kester during his long time of illness and when kester felt a bit better he told him he was going back to kinshasa since they are not allowed here, even  playbacks were extremely hard at that time
kester had a pacemaker on his heart and it was not at all a good thing to be moving too much especially such long trips and indeed his health worsened big time when he went to settle in kinshasa again
madilu could not come to europe to get proper treatment with his doctor because he had threats from people of europe

About Madilu I don't really believe, because the combattans-phenomene was then only active in London. While Madilu was living between Switserland and Congo at that time. If he died it was his own fault, because he went to Congo in order to promote his new album against his doctor advice.

There isn't a pension or some money raise to give musicians a dignified life once their career is over? It is obvious that once you got 60/70 you can't sing because your body is too much tired, sometimes I wish our politicians will be better not only in music but even in every day's life.

i

If i recall correctly, wasn't Madilu's nurse from Dallas a member of one of the defunct forums? She mentioned Madilu wasn't following doctors orders to change his diet, limit traveling and musical activities.

He had diabetes, which caused Diabetic retinopathy in the eyes (hence he always wore shades) for decades and she was assisting towards the end.

Wow, it's coming up to be the 10th anniversary of his passing
