Grand Kalle is the best voice ever in Congolese Music. Then you got Nyboma and Tabu Ley. They were the ones that were able to diversify their voice the most. They could sing high of low. That is impressive.

Although his career was tragically shortlived, Babia Ndonga's vocal skills were among my favorite! His sweet yet strong tenor range made him an excellent team player for choruses, but also as a vocal soloist.

I honestly struggled with him, which is why I gave him an honorable mention.

Another person I didn't mention at all, but should still get some kind of recognition is Franco.  If you study his works he always stayed on key and knew how to flawlessly harmonize with other vocalists in 4 part harmony and duets. He was also really good at cleanly using glissando while singing solos.  (In strong contrast to Werrason who has to use Auto Tune to correct his notes). Singing using Solfège is a pretty impressive skill that I'm certain a lot of these current singers aren't using.
