Quartier Latin's return in Kinshasa after 9 months of absence (Bercy-show, Europe-tour and African tour), preparing then for the Parc des Princes-show of 29 July 2001 which sadly didn't took place. The musicians of Quartier Latin who participated on the Bercy-show received cars as gifts including the new recruited musicians Montana, Ramazani, Christian Nzenze and Bouro Mpela who just returned.

The whole squad was rolling deep in Benzes - the golen era for QL. Even the usually silent Felly Tyson was feeling real charismatic

No, it’s were shegues who saboted his cars on the moment when they were performing at Cinemax. At that moment Koffi was in war against the shegues, after the the death of one of them.

The Lady seated behind Jipson is Kisindjora (Babia’s & Bibi Sucre’s cousin), at that moment she was Quartier Latin’s ‘porte-parole’. She would join Wenge BCBG in 2001, when Koffi left Bibi Sucre behind for the Zenith-show of 2001. Jipson is the guy who introduced Zobozi (R.I.P.) to Koffi Olomide

CNN was very young then (18 years old). So sad how it went with his career. He could have done many things if he didn't fell out with Koffi. I wonder if he sometimes doesn't regret to stopped school to join Quartier Latin and ending up in Europe doing those standard jobs to feed his family. Before Effrakata I had to get used to see Brigade and Kerozene doing the animations in concerts instead of CNN, who was left behind. I was then seeing Brigade as a faux animateur and a bad photocopie of CNN. I only liked Kerozene , because the way he was animating like Bil Clinton and his young age. When they were animating I always founding it weird since that CNN wasn't there and I was wondering where he was until that I heard that he joined Wazekwa. But after Effrakata I became a fan of the two guys and started to forget CNN.

I didn't knew that John Scot was a big dancer like that. I've Koffi never seen so happy and jumping around when someone dance of Quartier Latin even if Bouro or Fally was. Koffi forgot him quickly when Kerozene & Brigade joined. I wonder what Lofombo was thinking in Europe about Koffi & Werrason recruiting his musicians with him struggling in Europe to get his album on the market and doing alot of session work to survive. Back in 1999 people were thinking that he, Djuna Mumbafu and their band Delta Froce would to continue the succes they had after Pepe Kalle's album Cocktail. But leadership-wars made them split.

I don't know why Quartier Latin Integral decided to record Volte de Face as an EP than wait a year later to drop the complete album, they made an impact with the generique but the album came too late.

Under the circumstances, CNN made the best career decisions avaliable and he left behind a catalog of work to be proud of.

Brigade and Kerozene were recruited because was looking for someone who could replace Ocean Ebale well and to look for someone who animates like Bill Clinton. Brigade took CNN place because kf their fall out. Almost the way how Koffi started to demote Kirikou for Mukusa Ya Mbwa. Alot Quartier Latin-members were not happy with that. Fally said that right in Koffi’s face when he wanted to recruit Papy Jah in QL saying “vieux it looks like you are copying Maison Mere. You left CNN behind in Kinshasa and took Brigade & Kerozene and now you want to recruit Papy Jah because he singa like Ferre”. With Koffi replying with his voice “Ah, vraiment. Donc vedire nga nazo copier Maison Mere”. Hahahahaha.

Quartier Latin signed with recordlabel 1ere Classe of the rap-duo Neg’Marrons. With Volte Face they wanted to look if they were able to succeed and sign with them a full contract afterwards.

I never understanded CNN situation in 2002 and 2003. Because in 2002 he joined Wenge BCBG. I remember a video released on the music-market called ‘JB Mpiana parle a coeur ouvert’ of 2003, which was an interview with Francis Kakonde where he talks about Wemba’s arrestation, Anti Terro, the relations with his ex’ collegues of Wenge 4x4 and in the same video he said that CNN was waiting along with the PPU for him in Europe.

For me he didn’t make the best career decision. In 2003 when Quartier Latin went to Europe for the recording of Monde Arabe and Zenith he was left behind. But he was lucky that a girlfriend made him travel to Europe. Then he made the mistake to stay in Europe after that and being silent 4 years long with people started forgetting him despite the Salam Aleikum-single of 2005. With him releasing in 2008 a good album called K-Libre 12 during the G5 Revolution, But people not giving him a chance already frlm the start, because of not hearing him 4 years long. While his situation would have been different if was present during the promo of Monde Arabe.

I didn’t hear or see anything from him since the ‘14eme Anniversaire se Quartier Larin’-VHS. But I heard that John lives since 2010 in France (Strasbourg).

Koffi left him behind for Zenith 2001. Then he came to Europe on his own and rejoined Quartier Latin. But then girlfriend-issue with Koffi made him leave Quartier latin. With him then following Champion in Wenge BCBG, but returning with them to Kinshasa and him then starting a solo career and joining Viva Tendence in 2003. Participing in Somo Trop (2003) & Nkunzi Lele(2006) and releasing an EP called Acte 1 in 2006.

I remember how people in Bandal and his own close people were talking bad about him, while some days were left to release the album with Mamale seeing it as a big smack on his face. He would think that he would end up that way back in 2000-2001 when all the girls were following him. Tabou Fatou ruined his life.

Those Quartier Latin-singers had alot of exposure, but nobody succeed in their solo-career (except Fally). I remember how Soleil Wanga's Apres Moi was one of the most  awaited albums of 2009 along with A2BM of Fally and QEDT of Ferre with the Congolese press putting already on the 3th place of the leaders of G5 with not yet having released an album. With his fanclub in Brazzzaville doing big promoting there. But his album flopped so hard. I've never seen an album flopping so hard like that of Soleil. That big promotion and Soleil starting attack Koffi and his ex'collegues of Quartier Latin didn't want to participate on his album with thenthe album being released like it wasn't released.

It looks like journalist Tete Senga forget a little how to talk Lingala if I look her videos. She's far better than those internet journalist and some respected journalists on tv.
