Someone mentioned in a thread that it's 2011/14 all over again again with weak release after weak release. Summer 2017 was very promising; we got lots of good releases then.

Well then there's nothing to listen cause this year has been crap, Rendekita is album of the year. Koffi is releasing a generique soon but I have 0 faith in it it's just gonna be the same monotonous junk nothing new

In my opinion, 2011 was a good year for the cd-market with people still dancing despite the combattans-ban. JB Mpiana released Soyons Serieux, Werrason released Diatabawu for Primus and Techno Malewa suite et fin, Ferre Gola bringing Avant Gout out, Zaiko making a comeback with Bande Annonce and Felix Wazekwa releasing Haut Les Mains after a long of illness. Somewhere in December or November people from Koffi's staff leaked Abacadabra including songs who weren't meant to be released and everybody then downloading the album with those combattans playing it in their car while they said that they won't listen to music of people who song for Kabila lol. But it wasn't the final version of the album.

So crickets regarding new releases. Unfortunate. The one thing keeping people relevant is polemics

You think Abracadabra is worth a listen from start to finish? I never gave the album a full chance... I don’t like when Koffi only sings with a bedroom voice tone, and Cindy’s singing gets very  monotonous voice after a while. I also don’t like the vulgar lyrics we’ve gotten since BEK

I don’t how I’ve done it. But back then I was playing that album alot from the start until the end including those bonus tracks. I was one of the first to download the leaked version and I also one of the first to buy the final version. But now I only like 8 of the 23 tracks. I’ve alot of memories with that album. That year I went also to Kinshasa with that album hearing everywhere with Etoile d’Etat, Boulevard, Mosisi, Je t’Aime, Desormais, Emballe Moi and those two generics being my favorite until today. Normally I doesn’t like those kind of songs, but back then I was liking it. I don’t know why, maybe because of my ex. One thing I was saying to myself, was that if Koffi continue with those bedroom songs in his next album and only let Cindy sing everything then it would be over for him and I was right. Abracadabra was like a remix of BEK in terms of arrangements, while normally every Koffi-solo album has different sound.

I could first not believe the way Koffi finished and released Abacadabra. I thought that it was over for him with the case he had in France and Brigade, Kakol calling him Franc Congolais. Remember how down Koffi was back in 2010 & 2011, despite those Koffi Chante Lutumba & Tabu Ley-shows.

I also liked BEK alot. I think that Koffi wanted to prove Ferre & Fally a point with their bedroomsongs (Orgasy, Nyokalesse, 3eme Doigt, Kamasoutra, etc.), that he could do better songs then them by going deeper in the details. With also wanted to be accepted by the young-generation and it worked.

Wow so Koffi's people leaked the album did Koffi fire them because that's messing with his money. And those combattants are idiots how can block concerts but still dancing to artists music like what's the difference.
