I hope that I could see Papa Wemba's performace at Forest National in Brussels for his 50th birthday with King Kester Emeneya as his guest. I never saw that videotape and don't know if he filled that hall, because people only cared about Zenith, Bercy & Olympia while Forest National is also a big musichall with 8.400 seats.

I saw a short clip of that concert on Kester interview the vhs was titled megastar and papa wemba was singing Mi Amor correct if I'm wrong I saw Nyoka Longo and Bozi Boziana and in my opinion it's the second time when kester appeared guest in Papa Wemba after 8 years (1991-1999)

Its not the second time. Back in 1993 before the release they released they performed together . In 1992 also which was in Versailles if I remember well and one in 1991 with Koffi being the refree of their Victoria vs Viva match at Bataclan. There were also many concerts of them together in Brussels in the 90s and some in London.




Emeneya always talked good about Papa Wemba, but 1999 was a diffcult year and it looked like peoples were trying to minimize him with Kester's staff saying that he was better to attack Wemba and not be like a "yuma" to praise Wemba everytime.

Speaking of Joly Mubiala. Did he left Viva in 1998 because of the rise of Nouvelle Écriture or to become a frère en christ ? His LP Amour du Ciel was released in 1997 or 1998 ?
