Do Akongo don't have a problem with Koffi Olomide they met each already a few times when Domique used to live in Kinshasa. Koffi Olomide doesn't have a problem with Beniko, he complained often on tv that Beniko doesn't want to talk to him. Beniko himself said often on tv that he won't talk to be friends with Koffi again nor talking to him.

It was about the way Koffi left him behind, he was kicked out the house he was living because Koffi used to be owner. So he had quickly to look for a new livingplace while being broke with his wife and children.

Also Koffi and Beniko used to have a special frienship since the early 80's, being also the one who participated to Koffi's first solo album Ngounda while being a Zaiko-member and their relationship with the years going becoming more and more special and Beniko becoming on a point Koffi's BFF and even accepting Koffi's offer to join Quartier Latin.

I years long I used to think that Alerte Rouge was recorded after the creation of Academia. But watching Do Akongo's interview on Congomokili and talking to some former QL staff-members in Paris I discovered that Alerte Rouge in Brussels when the Europe-tour was about to end.

When Koffi Olomide was informed about Zaiko Langa Langa being about to tour in Europe, he quickly tried to contact Beniko Popolipo and Rocky Blanchard trought people of his staff. Blanchard agreed and received a car as a gift (the car wasn't working well lol) and Beniko agreed to return with the condition to be able to record a solo album in Europe with Koffi saying that it wasn't a problem but that he hadn't to use Zaiko-members in his album. Then Zaiko's tour in Europe got cancelled and Babia with other musicians started to mock Zaiko on tv and singing some extrats of Rond Point (refering to Rondabout Kimpawanza where Zaiko used to rehearse and perform every week). After that Quartier Latin went to Europe performing at Olympia & Zenith and those problems starting. Then Beniko went to Brussels recording Alerte Rouge, after finishing the album he called Koffi to inform that some were about to leave. With Koffi Olomide seeing him as traitor number one thinking that he would also leave and seeing him as one of the brains of Academia, making already plans how to get rid of him and humilate him in the future including other members who he was also seeing as traitors.

Ndeko, why was Zaiko struggling so hard in the 90s? It wasn't like they were releasing bad albums, Avis de Recherche and Nous y Sommes were very solid albums!

The death of Bansimba Baroza was very sad and eminds me of Dindo Yogo. Those two men needed a hiatus from music to focus on their health, but I never understood why they were so stubborn and kept their aggressive work schedule.

The death of Bansimba Baroza was very sad and eminds me of Dindo Yogo. Those two men needed a hiatus from music to focus on their health, but I never understood why they were so stubborn and kept their aggressive work schedule.

After the tour of 1992 they lost important keymembers like Alpha Kopeya, Zamuangana & Shiro Vuemba which was a huge blow with Mbuta Matima being very sick (he died in 1996). They released Avis de Recherche (which was meant for 1993) in 1995 and it was a huge succes. Then they lost Omela Toko. After that they released Sans Issue but it flopped with people complaining about bandmember becoming to old and then released Backline Lesson One which also flopped. Nyoka Longo decided then to fire some members who were seen as unproductive by the face (Laudy Demingongo, etc.) and started to recruit young guys like Willy Bula, Lassa Lacolyte, Deo Brondo, Papy Cocaine, Daniel 6000 but before releasing Nous Y Sommes, Bansimba Baroza died. After that they released Nous Y Sommes and it was a huge succes and it brought Zaiko back on the top. They were preparing for a Europe-tour, but they got their visa's getting denied to twice. But then they discovered that there was an artist who was behind that, claiming to the authorities of Europe that Nyoka Longo was a Mobutist and did alot of bad things. When they arrived in Europe they started to attack that artist very hard in interviews.

Dindo Yogo didn't died for an aggressive work schedule. He wasn't perform alot. He just finished his album, but his blood vein close to his brain was torn. So he had to go to the hospital were they did operation. He had then to rest, but Dindo was eager to go to Kinshasa to promote his album. He went to Kinshasa and started rehearsing with that blood vein being torn again. Those doctors in Kinshasa didn't know what to do and he died.

Baroza died of AIDS. But alot of people were claiming that it was a blood sacrifice, because they didn't found it normal that alot of musicians were dying in a short time. Zaiko lost alot of fans because of those deaths and alot of youngsters were scared to join Zaiko of those deaths. Until this day people watch to Nyoka Longo with a bad eye because of those deaths keeping reminding him about his roots. 

Did Dindo Yogo's album successful I know he had contracts to tour in the US.

No, Dindo got contracts in the USA because of his brother living in LA who was a professor there.

Okay but things went bad for Dindo his son joining Quartier Latin and his health getting worse.

He was okay with Lola Muana joining Quartier Latin since that he was Europe-based. Lola even bought a car for him during the tour of Bercy. Dindo wasn't sick it was just that he needed some rest to let the torn blood vein heal. Lola Muana even advised him to stay some months in Europe to recover but Dindo was to eager to return. When he died in Kinshasa they arrested his dancer. Because people tought that the dancer poisoned him since that he used to eat in her house before dying. But luckily Lola Muana quickly returned and explained the situation.
