yeah, he had also a strong charisma. He had already his place in the band. It was bad decision from him to leave the band just because he heard from other members that Koffi was talking bad about him or is dad (i don't remember).

What made him join the band? And did he leave before or after Monde arabe, it would’ve been interesting to see him participate in Longtima Skol and Danger de mort. I don’t think there’s a concert on YouTube of him there. Didn’t Fally and co give him a hard time because he came from Academia

He joined in 2003 when Sam had already stayed more than a year in Europe. It was also the year when most members of Academia decided to leave and join other bands. He left before the release of Monde Arabe. Tonton Lay could have participated as singer on the Monde Arabe. But Koffi decided to leave him behind on that tour and decided to take Junior Kingombe as tenorist. I guess that Koffi tought he would ran away since that he hadn't been in Europe since 2 years. After that there was moment that Koffi left Quartier Latin in Europe and went to perform in Burkina Faso with QL-musicians of Kinshasa (Tonton Lay, Brigage, Tshe Tshe le Balle, Mbetenge, Poumpa, etc.). Then when Quartier Latin came back to Kinshasa he participated to some concerts and then left.

This is why Deplick is so skilled also as an Atalaku. All of the singers of Wenge MM except maybe Heritier have great atalaku skills. Deplick, Robinio, Fabregas, Ferre etc.

manzambi funny thing is that all the guys you mentioned started as atalakus or learned atalaku role way before their solo careers
for example  kabuya literally replaced fabregas in fvicteam because fally needed a rougher voice than kasangidi and equaliseur,deplick was an atalaku who became a full time singer just before maison mere,robinio was an atalaku who became a singer thanks to ibrator then went as a singer to caludji's group then maison mere
even heritier back when he was following the group of fally,fila basele,seguin,cele kibinda...was already trying a little bit of animation along with singing
