Tabu Ley's exil in Europe and USA really killed his career.

This was in 1994 because I heard the song Muzina which was recorded in July 94 they only posted the concerts from 1992.

I just watched the full interview and alot things that Tabu Ley said happened. For example on 51:18 min, he said if the governement doesn't watch out a country with expansionist ideas could put their flag in Rwanda and direct the country. It also also happened in 1997, when Rwanda & Uganda put Laurent-Desire Kabila as puppet on power, stealing in meantime all mineral and killing alot of people, then when Kabila tried to get them out, they started the rebellion-group RCD and MLC using former Mobutists as puppets to fight LD Kabila and claiming parts of DR Congo (Rwanda claiming the Kivu-region as their ground and Uganda claiming Ituri and parts of province Oriental).

On 1:06:47 he said that the youth of Congo has to interes in politics, because if they don't watch out, people from other countries can take their place. Now 25 years later, its the case and those people have infiltrated the governement and army and now trying to create states within in the Congo to have better control over the mining-industries along with the multinations. I heard that  they are busy  with lobbying to create the Kivu-republic.

It's scary how he predicted the future but nobody listened to him.

Its not their fault. people were dissapointed in politics, after those many deceptions of the years 1960-1965, discovering that politicians are big liars, giving then Mobutu blindly all powers. Those who were still interested in politics and saw that Mobutu was a big danger were all killed and/or put in prison (for example the killing of students at the university of Kinshasa in 1967) plus the moment when Mobutu decided to hang 4 politicians in public in 1966, which traumatised the Congolese population for life and them never wanting to do something with politics. So after 1990 they taught that Etienne Tshisekedi would save the people from Mobutu, but he was just a puppet of Mobutu to play with the belief of people until that LD Kabila came on power.

That is also why the popularity of music and pentecotist chruches started in rise very high in the early 90s, because everybody was dissapointed in the politics of the country, plus there weren't jobs anymore and ecomony of Zaire being very bad. So with religion alot had some hope (not knowing that influent pastors became puppets of the MPR and later ADFL) and with music they could forget all the things that were going wrong. It coincided with the Congolese community in Europe becoming bigger and artists being able to perform in mythic musichall of Paris and Brussels with their support, which would have been almost impossible in the 70s and 80s.

Muzina was actually released in 1989. However it was reissued in 1994. Muzina was done before Exil-Ley. Btw Exil-Ley is an excellent song.
