Delo Bass was not a great bassist in my opinion. His work in Le monde à l’envers is particularly telling

Dello Bass already left towards the end of 2001, after many conflicts with Marie Paul, who didn't want to listen his advices. For example the idea to just return to Kinshasa, after the flopped tour in Europe (all key-concerts of London, Paris, Brussels were mpiaka). But Marie Paul prefered to stay in Europe, in order that all musicians would get papers (getting married with sugarmother and making girls pregnant) and return 2 years later, if keymembers would have obtained their papers. Another thing that he started to feel to old (being of someone of serie 6, same generation of Marie Paul, Werrason, JB, Blaise Bula, etc.).

The European tour did not seem to go as plan since K.O. Debout didn't reach the charts.

K.O. Debout "Carte Jaune" wasn't released yet when they came in Europe. The album was recorded in Kinshasa at Studio Meko but Marie Paul prefered to mix and release in Europe. Donors like PDG Nkonkou Costa & Zulu 21 put their money to let them get visa's to come to Europe with Claude Mussay being their tour-promoter. Their first concert was at LSC. They performed there the same day when they arrived in Europe after 7 years of absence on december 23th 2000. However the concert was a big mpiaka (there was also heavy rain that day). They tried to make it up giving an extra concert the following week at Theatre Gymnase de Marie Bell in Paris during new year eve with Ricoco Bulambemba as their guest. But that concert also sadly flopped. After that they went immediatly to the studio correcting some vocal-lines, guitar, animation adding mabanga and mix the album. KO Debout "Carte Jaune" got then release somewhere in February/March 2001 but against all exceptions and noise it flopped very hard. They made a "presentation officiel" concert at Cabaret Sauvage in Paris with Koffi Olomide as guest, but it was also a huge mpiaka. They performed at Concert Noble in Brussels but only his staff and friends came. Zacharie Bababaswe who was insulted by his wife and himself Marie Paul, after explaining the history of Wenge El Paris, used the footage of that concert to humilate him along with that "famous" interview where he said that his woman was a homme d'affaire (instead of saying femme d'affaire) and that his favorite fruit was mikate. After that he performed in other cities, but it wasn't a huge succes. Marie Paul on one point dissapearing while his fans (ba ndimi) in Kinshasa were still waiting for him. Rumors being spread that he started doing jobs as in Lille, some musicians moving from Paris where they used to sleep at Formule 1 to other cities of France (kokota mabala) until that Marie Paul suddenly reappeared in one of those polemic VHS to announce Eboulement Totale snd throwhing some shots towards Werrason, saying that people have to say to him that he's still alive.

I remember that concert at Theatre Gymnase de Marie Bell the guitars were out of tune plus it sounded empty is that famous interview on youtube?

Which interview ?

Its a shame that KO Debout "Carte Jaune" flopped, especially for all the energy they put in that album. They went for 1 month to Nsele to prepare that album. Ko Debout is for me the best album of EL Paris, followed by Eboulement Totale. Maybe it was karma for Marie Paul's ungratefulness towards many people. A good example is Belis Mfumu Luvutula (RIP) who gave him the right to use the name Wenge and who went even in prison for him after that JB, Masela and Werra sued him. He received a visa for Europe but got left behind at Beach Ngobila seeing his picture being replaced by that of Pitshou Santiago who hadn't a visa for that tour and going with his passeport.

I'm talking about the interview when Marie Paul said the milkshake was Mikate, It has to be karma because someone taking the heat for your trouble. You have to be very greatful at the end "Omoni Masumu"

That interview is not on youtube. The stuff of Wenge El Paris is very rare.

Today people see Werrason as a clown, but back in those days it was Marie Paul who was seen as most stupid musician. Every year he was making a blunder in his interviews, but people weren't paying much attention until the moment of Pepe Kalle's death and that interview. About that stuff of mikate. It was that they asked to him "Ce quoi ton fruit preferee" and him answering "les beignets" and that moment being repeated like 4 or 5 times in one of those polemic videos (you had many versions).

Marie Paul also left a keymember like Alain Mwepu behind who now lives in Tanzania and a guy like Doukoure, who had a wife and child living in London. He lost his head (must also be ba retour of nkisi. he said that he used to sacrifice alot of people of his family for El Paris) and now lives in Luanda (Angola). The same Marie Paul who says that Werrason is ungrateful lol throwing many shots towards him in KO Debout and recording the song Jalousie. But in life nobody is perfect.

Marie Paul has always been that way. Also during the days of the war Wenge 4X4 vs Wenge El Paris and also not even being scared to talk against the old guard. People used to call him then impoli, etc. during those days. Marie Paul was very happy when Wenge split, because he saw that his prophecy was accomplished, after predicting it in december 1996. Saying that the Armageddon was coming, but people not understanding it. After the split, he became more calm, but was sometimes attacking JB and Koffi.

I was wondering who had played bass on Eboulement since Delo Bass wasn't around that time.

@Matebu what was wrong with Delo Bass' playing?
