Lol.Clan Wenge and their 12. So the "Difficile a dire mais les tetes vont tomber" was directed at Titina. Funny enough yesterday morning I was listening to BCBG albums and kept wondering what it meant and who it was meant for and off course I got the answer thru this interview.

Am thinking to myself the current musicians at BCBG are not ambitious, all this time that BCBG has not released an album, no one among them (especially the influential guys in JB's inner circle) has taken the opportunity to request for a solo album within the group. That would also test whether Mukulu is sincere when he says anyone can do a solo album provided they get permission.

They are not allowed to do it. Musicians are scared of what might happened after Metrau got blinded by the trio through spiritual attacks, because he participated on Abraham's album, they couldn't get Abraham so they hit his close friend. Nono Fudji had the chance to release a solo album but he refused and since then musicians have understood that making a solo album whitin the group will cause trouble

But the inner circle guys like JDL and Rio cant they use their good relation with the boss to lobby? For me it all boils down to lack of ambition. Permission or not an artist worth his salt can't stay without new music (unless off course you are a JB Mpiana) for close to 10 years. Then where would you draw your relevance from. Lack of ambition is what separates the two groups of Wenge.

I think that the systems are set up different. For example in Maison Mere is fight for survival is either you emerge or die, it is like a school for music and for life becauss life is exactly like Maison Mere only the strong survive this is why Lobeso almost broke down crying amd Brigade couldn't resist the 12 set up by Heritier while in BCBG JB actually cares about making people loyal to him good, you can see from the level of respect he have for Fusee, Maitre Ficarre, Genta, JDL, Rio, Kibens, Tolbert, Pajo, Ben Laden and many others that he really cares about his people well being and the people who went away from Wenge (except for Mboka Liya) went away never for money problems but because of a reason outside of that. This is good but life it is not like that. The reason why every ex BCBGeians fail it is because he is used to have everything set up for him and never had really to fight for survival. JDL, Rio and Kibens aren't interested in a solo project, they knew they would be the weakest singers especislly Rio and Kibens, JDL can't sing but he is not marketable due to his size they are good and excellent if things stay like this

Further I have indicated that musician who are recruited to BCBG differ from other bands. Ambitious artists usually end up in WMM get your limelight and leave. For BCBG is stability. A good example is Nono Fudji, he never fights for the mic.

BCGG is a weird case. At this point, we need a PhD thesis to explain what happened with JB and that group.

For instance, how can you waste a talent like Nono Fudji? 15 years ago, he had a very good buzz : guys respected him and the ladies were loving him. And he was a good singer. That's the recipe for success. So Why JB himself never tried try to produce an album for Fudji? Mystery.

I start to suspect that JB enjoys the statu quo: a mediocre band with him being the only light.

Also, these series of interviews about the PPU are starting to move the opinion of the public toward JB: people are starting to say that he's not that good of a guy compared to Werre.

Guys groups like JB's, Koffi's, Ferre's and many others do not care about preparing their members for a solo career. The solo career furthermore it was made popular by Fally but before that Congolese music was always about collective groups or a leader with a band that will stay with him until his death. JB doesn't believe in solo projects but he is willing to produce people who asks him and since no one except Metrau and Ibrator asked him to produce his album or fund his concerts why bothering about it?

I'm not talking about solo careers, Im' jus talking about solo projects.

I mean look at Viva La Musica with Reddy, Stino, Gloria,  etc., and even Ok Jazz. So it's not a problem of being old school. You don't even have to disband the band to have solo projects on the side.

The fact that JB had a bunch of talents sitting in his group fo 15 years without a single solo project is a curiosity and a failure on his part.

You're an insider and an avid follower of our genre. But for the general public, JB was the good guy in terms of generosity and relationship with the musicians while Werra was the stingy bad guy. Those interviews might change that perception for the average listener.

JB is very soft, and does not push his musicians, he pampers them a lot, and that is why they never leave. Werrason and Kofi are tough, they push their musicians to the limit, they make them work hard. They divide and rule and apply all kind of forces to make their musicians perform. I am sure Ferre would have ended like Alain Mpela if he had stayed with BCBG
