I want honest views and I want us to put our feelings to the side about our favourite artists.

Can anyone explain the differences in artists rumbas. Like what makes Koffi's rumba different or better than the next artist.

Like how would you explain to someone that Ferre's rumba consists of a b c and JB's rumba consists of a b but not c because of whatever reason.

how do you explain, the differences in the artists rumbas. The strengths each artists has.. Is it the texts or melodies, how do you explain the differences.

I will try to do a good paragraph a bit later if I have time but briefly I will say for example that Koffi the strengths that he has is along his great career he had the chance to work with great composers and good guitarists. Koffi had very sophisticated rumbas at the instrumental level but also very sophisticated at the level of the lyrics and especially even if he dont have the best voice, he had a "suave" voice which accompanied the lyrics well.

Both Fally and Ferré are lucky to have very good lyrics and beautiful melodies. Fally has more elaborate melodies than Ferré but Ferré has lyrics that are much deeper and more real even if at the beginning of Fally's career, Fally's songs were very deep in terms of lyrics. The best example is with Control and QQJD (Fally had better melodies but Ferré had better lyrics)

Fally, Ferre, JB ect. are interpreters. They sing songs written by songwriters like Djodjo Lina, Eldorado, Vigas Sous Sol, Pascal Poba. Koffi on the other hand is a songwriter/poet himself who sometimes works with other writers. Koffi is also a guitarist, Popolipo has even said that Koffi is more of a guitarist than singer.
