I think the reason is that people forget that QL is a band that has been on since the 80s, and back in the 90s and early 2000s it wasn’t easy going solo the way it is now.
The original team from the 90s just before Academia was formed wouldn’t have been able to make it if they went solo, and most guys that left after Academia, tried going solo before Fally, but it was really about the big 4 back then.
Also those that did try to go solo when Fally and Ferre did took too long to release albums since they were sorting out their papers, rather than going to kin to promote their albums like Maison Mere guys do. But Mirage’s first album did well after he left, and Soleil had a lot of buzz when he left but his album flopped.
The last thing why there isn’t successful QL is also because of Cindy, so musicians don’t get space. Fabregas, Robinio and Heritier to an extent are perfect examples, they all left Maison Mere in the last decade, now imagine if they were QL members, it would’ve been over for them instantly, since no one really knows people from QL anymore.
Now imagine if Koffi used the same old system that he used for QL, I believe he would’ve made more “kids” out of them.
Most QL alumni’s have released really good albums, but them staying in Europe really ruined the promotion, or they released it at the wrong time, Suzuki, Depitcho’s albums are good examples.
At the moment other than Fally, Sam Tshintu and Montana a little bit, are the only ones active in their career.

Also Arabe Youssouf, or even someone like Rolly Mayemba, or other people that have gone through Quartier Cindy whose talent we may never know due to being neglected.
I also believe some of that team from the Magie/Ultimatum era if they were in this generation they would’ve had a decent solo run, especially Willy, Babia, and Sam, since anyone can go solo nowadays.

Man you gotta start form the fact that Old Leaders (Werrason, Koffi etc) do not like to see their offspring having success, Werra tried to block Les Marquis in everyway and said in a phonecall with Koffi I guess that they were lucky the group dissolved cause it would have been trouble if they stayed, Koffi never thought that Fally could leave and he took Ferré to humiliate Maison Mère and also didn't expect Ferré to leave, when Koffi gave Fally the permission to do an album he wanted to make like OK JAZZ where you would have your album as a simple musician under the leader but still be in the group, if he had known what Fally would have become he would have done what is he doing now with Cindy never let the artist shine, for Werra instead I think that he doesn't like when people go solo, at all, but at the same time I think he is happy that he got more successful artist than his little brother JB. Back to the Topic Koffi isn't simply interested in creating stars, nor is Werra nor is JB young guys like Innoss, Gaz Mawete understood it and tried their own luck, plus to be honest Soleil, Supersonic etc. Didn't have the charism or the appeal to the female public that Fally has and this also matters, Ferré made it because of his voice and because like Bill he was heavily spinsoirzed by Werra

No ones talking about leaders blocking their musicians, the conversation was simply about why QL musicians don’t succeed.
And Koffi never wanted to make his group like OK Jazz with the solo albums otherwise guys like Suzuki and co would’ve had solo albums to their name. It’s known that Koffi was 50/50 about Droit Chemin but that’s stories been told 100 times.
You’re wrong about Mirage because when he came with QL to Europe, girls were going crazy over him especially when he would do his vocal impro from Sisi Silvi. Mirage’s first album did well he just didn’t go back to Kin to promote it.
If Werra and Koffi weren’t interested in creating stars then they wouldn’t have given their musicians any space or even songs on their albums. They used to openly brag on TV that they creating stars, it’s only now that Koffi doesn’t seem interested anymore.
