Those who succeed their solo-career in the Congolese music-scene never returned back to a band (except Bozi Boziana when he returned Zaiko in 1976 after spending time in Isifi Lokole & Yoka Lokole). Bouro Mpela already lost credibility when he returned back from Academia in 2000. He was still popular, but people didn't saw him anymore like someone who would make it as a bandleader, he didn't had that charisma anyway like his big brother Alain Mpela, Bendoson, his former collegue Sam Tshintu and Ferre Gola. When Bouro Mpela left in 2004, he was contacted by Moovison to record a duo-album with his brother Alain Mpela. The album they made (Mortel Combat) flopped due to bad promotion and both guys not returning to Kinshasa for concerts and promotion. A few months after the release of Mortel Combat, Bouro left his brother to rejoin Quartier Latin, which people see him like a clown and calling him pigeon voyageur. But he didn't long in Quartier Latin, he already left after 5 months to form his own band. How do you want that people will take you serious ? He started to prepare the album Vice de Procedure (which was a good album) produced by Duo d'Enfer Papy Mukiadi and Late Adrien Mukiadi. But the album flopped due to bad promotion and Bouro Mpela not having that credibility anymore and people for waiting for other G5-albums (Didier Lacoste, Fally's second album, Soleil Wanga, Jipson Butukondolo, etc.). He had a few small concerts and playbacks shows in France and after that went to settle in USA, having there playbacks-shows and concerts with Jordan Kusa, Alain Mpela and others. But then got a car-accident, which put him off for a few months.
