Just saw the video of his last performance in Cameroon, man that’s soo sad. RIP, absolutely a underrated legend.

He looked so sick had to stop watching... it's so sad; he was still financially destitute. Shame so many artists have gone out like this

Montana, Theo Mbala, Renato, and Eugene Makuta must all be inconsolable right now

Man this is still unbelievable. You have to slow down when you get to that age.

this loss  will surely affect the end of the year activities or releases...
indeed he looked very very tired even though at some point he tried dancing a bit,its so sad,he was one of the rare artists who did not have a major major feud with colleagues going for years
like you guys mentioned montana kabose mbokaliya renato, debleu and all those big stars guys must be devastated
its also surely a big shock for guys like djanana, luciana, adolphe, koffi, reddy and so on
i could talk a bit with wazekwa today all he could say when he could stop crying a bit was "ahhh mbuta akeyi mbuta akeyi "
his loss reminds me a bit of pepe kalle,in that sense that he was quite away from polemic,he was supportive of artists in kinshasa during his extended stay abroad, and even of journalists i cant recall especially the tv journalists any of them who did not give him several shoutouts in their shows in kinshasa then thanked him for his warm welcome whenever they could be gone to kenya
RIP gene gene he will be missed,i wanted to say i hope his death will change that "asila" mentality but thats delusional from me,unfortunately those guys will continue to be "asila" to many until they pass and their is a sudden period of tribute and due respect

I still can’t believe this day. We lose a legend like this. He was working on new material I believe?

We are losing them at a faster rate than we are making them. Thank you Defao for your music.

This pandemic has taken a few artists. I wander if there are steps and procedures they should be taking to limit getting the virus.

I’m in the US but we are no better. One state is different than another when it comes to pandemic management. I know it has affected my sporting events.
