I didn't see Emeneya's part

It could be that the VHS was damaged on that part like for example the VHS of Delta Force, the part of Djuna Mumbagu presenting the singers and atalaku's or the VHS of Emeneya in Japan where it was damaged when he started singing Mokosa.

Before performing at Zenith de Paris in 2001, Emeneya considered himself as the first Congolese musician to have performed at Zenith de Paris and bragging often about in interviews, while he was just guest. He stopped with doing that the moment Koffi Olomidé performed there on his own in 1988.

I remember  the late Franco reacting irritated when journalists asked him about Abeti's show at Zenith, which people interpreted as him being jealous about Abeti being the first Congolese artist to perform there. Imagine if a 3th or 4th generation artist to peform at Parc des Princes in the 2000s with that much amount of guests. I think that the artist would be mocked for that and create alot of polemic. When Koffi Olomidé started with his Bercy-project, he was not sure about selling out Bercy, and was first thinking about inviting many guests from DRC. But he changed his mind on the last minute.


Abeti Masinki is in my opinion not respected enough as artist in DRC for taking those risks. Being the first Congolese woman to perform at Olympia in 1973 and returning in 1975 for two shows and another in 1986. Being the first Congolese artist to perform at Carnegie Hall of New York in 1975, Royal Albert Hall of London in 1979 and Apollo Theatre in 1989. Nor Mbilia Bel or Tshala Muana had perform at those big musichalls.
