Didn't they do a soundcheck ?

I've already been to a Maison Mère concert that my cousin's friend was organizing (Deplik's first trip, Fabregas etc...) I can confirm that they don't do any soundcheck at all...just a shortly before the concert (It was Ali Mbonda, Kakol and Coreen who did it) on the other hand groups like Bcbg with Kibens do it automatically.

That's why Maison mere has always suffered from sound, especially at the time of DVDs.

You beat me to the punch... thanks for confirming - WMM has historically been unprofessional when it comes to concert sound. It seems the the group lacks attention to detail from an acoustic standpoint, unless under direct supervisor of a top producer

The first day of Werra's Double Zenith was a huge embarrasement, because it was broadcasted live on Tele Sud which is a French television channel. Apparently it also started late due to technical issues, maybe that's why didn't had time to soundbalance. Because if you listen to the second day of Double Zenith, you notice that the drum and bass sound totally different, the rhythm-guitar not being really high and the lead-guitar being audible. It explains why they released the second day as volume 1 1ère partie and 2ème partie for those VHS cassettes and the first day as volume 2. According to Werrason himself in the interview he did with priest Jean Marie Kondé back in 2018, he said that the first day at Zenith wasn't sold out like the second day was, while back in the days they were making alot of noise for double zenith and them being the first to mock JB Mpiana for his Zenith in 1999 not being sold out.

I just realized Adjani was with them in Europe for Zenith, where he sung his verse on 13 ans but he never participated on A La Queue Leu Leu.  What happened?

Also, I noticed WMM never kept keyboardist very long from Modeste to Thierry to Chevignon Synthé, but only Theo Bidens was given a song. I'm guessing it's out of respect for Sec Bidens because Werrason doesn't seem to give instrumentalists songs

Thierry Synthe was there since late 1999 to end-2004 when he decided to leave because of Werrason bringing keyboard player Rubain Synthe to Europe instead of him, which made Thierry join Bill. The guy ended up running away. Later Thierry returned to Maison Mère in 2009 and would stay until 2013. This made him being there for 9 years which is really long if you compare to other keyboard players (except Modeste Modikilo who was in Zaïko and the two guys playing for Wenge BCBG, I don’t remember their names). Most keyboard players in Congolese music  just spend 5 years max.

Modeste was Zaïko’s player who was invited to play in Force d’Intervention Rapide, because Vasco de Gama (Maison Mère’s first keyboard player) not being convincing. I guess that they weren’t liking his way of playing which was to gospel. The same Vasco would be left behind for Maison Mère’s trip to Europe and his place in no time being taken by Patrick Synthe and Thiery Synthe who came freshly from Europe with Zaïko.

Theo Bidens is a old man who collaborated with multiple artists in studio bobongo back in the 80s and 90s. He was also in Wenge 4x4 and made his name bigger in Wenge BCBG. So it’s normal that Werra gave him a song. Werrason gave many instrumentalists songs Ali Mbonda, Japonais Maladi, Flamme Kapaya, Mimiche Bass and Christian Mwepu. He’s the only leader that gave his mbonda player two songs on an album (Ali Mbonda in Temps Present with Caresse and Associé Valable). The same for Kakol who had also two songs in Temps Present (Fidelité d’Amour & Fanatique na Nga). The thing in Wenge Maison Mère is that you can’t come from nowhere and the next day put songs in a group album. You have to spend some more time in the band. It’s not Quartier Latin.

Adjani was punished. He didn’t even take part to the preparations of Double Zénith and A La Que Leu Leu. He was often absent. The same for Kibuisa Mpimpa and Bercy. In Kibuisa he was lucky that Lacoste left which made him get some vocals like Aimelia. In A La Que Leu Leu they were fed up and decided to not let him participate, also knowing that he probably would run away like the way he almost did in 2001

 the two guys playing for Wenge BCBG are Cedric Guez ( Since 2001 ) and Jeremie Kitubu who replaced Theo bidens in 2004

If you compare this song live recorded at Zenith with all re song Werra has produce it seems two different musicians here is super professional cause it is in France but in Congo instead it seems that child are playing
