The last 15 years, I have noticed when ever a former musician of Empire Bakuba gets interviewed, the journalist never really being interested in history but just about the stories/rumors of occultism or Pepe Kalle's death.

Boeing here said that Pepe Kalle moved to Masina because of always being fights in their house in Barumbu which had a bar, between Baluba and Lulua when there used to be tensions between the two tribes. This brought me back to the memories of my uncle who once shared stories about the Lulua vs Baluba fights in Kinshasa in the late 50s. He said that he used to put powder on his arms and if a Lulua would try to hit him with a machete, it would never affect him. Going back to Boeing's story. I don't remember which musician it was, but somebody said that it was because his mother getting divorced or something like that went to Masina or maybe I got confused it with the story of Pepe Kalle coming back from Kimbanseke/Masina to live again in Barumbu because of divorce.

I really wonder what all former musicians of Fondation Empire make them hate their former boss Kinanga Boeing. When its 2 or 3 people its understandble but not when its almost all bandmembers, then you need to ask questions to yourself. Its sad how they disbanded in Europe because they had potential to grow to a bigger group.

I was shocked to hear what Boeing said about Jolie Bebe living in bad conditions in someone's house, sleeping there on carton and almost having passed away if he didn't help her out when she was in coma.

Also crazy to hear what Papy Tex did to them. Selling all 21 visa's that were meant for the musicians to ngulu for each $1000 dollars (that was alot of money at that time). It explains now why they didn't go to Europe after annoucing a tour for March 2000. I suspect Djuna Mumbafu doing the same thing with Delta Force 'Aile Djuna and abandoning them in Kinshasa to settle in Europe for a few years before coming back to record Tonerre de Brest. When hearing these stories, it looks like both Papy Tex & Dilu Dilumona didn't want anything to do with Empire Bakuba after Pepe Kallé death. Its not the first time that I heard a bad story about Papy Tex.

Pepe Kalle = Empire Bakuba

Empire Bakuba could've fulfilled a long legacy like OK Jazz, Zaiko and Afrisa. Unfortunately, after Pepe Kalle's death, the story was never the same. Pepe Kalle was an easygoing person to be around. Pepe Kalle didn't create any polemic for the sake of conflict. Pepe Kalle was very charismatic, outgoing, and cool. A pity.

The car accident of Papy Tex scared a lot of members want to associate with him. Dilu became distant as years went by.

There was an interview of Beniko Popolipo that stated main reasons most bands crumble 1.) Financial problems 2.) Egos (The battle of leadership, non-compromising and tensions) 3.) Deaths.

apparently many things kinanga boeing said about jolie bebe were false. jolie bebe was furious about what boeing said about her and said that he would react by also doing an interview at papy gene's show.

i think  the empire fondation guys were told that he received big money from bralima in europe which could not be true,it happened many times that musicians got angry because of rumours of leader getting big money and giving nothing
 thats biya chante's channel posting it it says a lot about how they all hold grudge
