I think it is a mix of things, to be honest I think his "I don't want to do Kindoki" was just an excuse tbh, Deplick had his big moment with Boloss and also brought almost all of his musicians in Europe



The same for a guy like But Na Fillet whom I don't remember if he went to Europe already but had a very very big success in Congo and everybody knows how deeply religious and totally oppose to Kindoki he is



So I just think that we can't really know why, especially when now Is the opposite he wants to do every big hall in the world from The Stade Des Martyrs and then Europe and Madison Square Garden.

About the singers the thing is that Wazekwa's system to get songs is extremely complicated. Given his fear of Kindoki and also aversion of any peoole who does an immoral job to get by the musicians had to go and investigate the donors who asked for the song, if the guy wasn't legit or doing work with legitimate business rhey were forced to gi e back the money for example there was a time where Kayile Inga or Mamadou Waricho I don't remember which one wanted to have a song by Wazekwa but Wazekwa gave him the money back because one of this two or either of them were suspected of being witchcrafters, and then I can understand but for the other donors I can't.
Imagine being a singer of Wazekwa you find a donor but Wazekwa doesn't let you release the song cause you found out that the guy is corrupted, was a criminal or something like that.
It is kinda disillusioned to say but tbh the best song ever made sometimes were driving by the hopes of a better life, or more money from donors,if like in Wazekwa's group you know that you won't get much even after all of your efforts and also with this complicated system of finding songs  you won't be motivated to do anything.
Another example is the reharsal, the rehearsal that you have seen at Wazekwa's house are most of the time self funded by musicians because it was musicians who had the idea of having open rehearsals. So things like transport who usually get paid by the boss it is the same musicians that pays it.

About his voice I think is due to Papa Wemba and Manda Chante, meaning that Wazekwa loke many of his contemporary in age grew up in a time where you should have sanged with an high pitched voice even if you were a baritone, things that Manda, Papa Wemba some other could do, for example Werrason does the same despite being a baritone and having an extremely excellent voice as a Baritone
