Did Do Akongo really believe he'd succeed as a solo artist when he started his own group? Was he inspired by Extra Musica and OK Jazz in terms of instrumentalists being successful group leaders?

Or did he think his songwriting abilities would lure talented people to his group? I always wondered what motivates artists back then to go solo when there's plenty of examples of failed attempts. I'm guessing producers write a check that's too hard to refuse

Do didn’t leave as soon as Fally came, Fally arrived around March/April 1999 and Do left after Behring left behind for Bercy around January 2000. So they spent nearly a year together

When Do Akongo left it created some buzz, people actually believed in him in the beginning and were waiting for his album. It is just that it a long time and the last producer that was meant to release the album changed his mind after meeting Koffi and producing Koffi Olomidé instead at Stade des Martyrs, letting Do Akongo’s album disappear.
