I was talking yesterday with one of the koffi montfleury guys and we were talking about quartier latin whether they try to convince koffi or not and all that,and he said when fally left and joss arrived he still had a bit of that desire but joss attitude started to turn him off,he saw in joss a profile which could have covered for the fally departure,good looking,waist dancer like fally,more fluent in french communication wise and all that but he was reluctant to do like fally,maybe because people warned him about koffi's unstable mood
by doing like fally,koffi meant joining him in studio late when koffi is alone and checking all the records,visiting him at home very often,being ready to for example go and give money from him to his sidekicks and so on and that koffi was often confronting joss about it like "yo chef d'orchestre mobimba oyaka te" and things like that and joss was not responding just touching his locks with his head down
and then when there was that project of a mini group album the fact that joss took it very seriously and brought so many songs ignited fear in koffi like you ask for one song and the guy has like 9 fully ready and he does not even "commit fully" whats stopping from going solo soon as he gets spotlight
then the nail in the coffin was the rumours of him dating cindy,because they came from same area and had a big brother young sister  relationship for a long time
there the project changed form and ended in a half hearted guelor song and whoever else got a chance then 15 years later still no quartier latin songs

I remember watching an interview a while back and Joss himself said Koffi used to complain that he would never go to visit him in house after hours and just have a chat like Fally Soleil Montana and co used to do whilst Joss wanted to keep things professional, and it was there I thought Joss was an absolute moron because many musicians would jump at that opportunity. So yeah Joss could’ve saved the group but him being obsessed with being a carbon copy of Wazekwa ruined things for himself and the group

I feel like someone like Rolly Mayemba had more of the profile of the young Fally, if you look at the videos of Rolly’s time from 2006 to 2007 and compare it to the videos of Fally’s early years from 1999 to 2001 you’ll see similarities.

Every group has its own philosophy, Wazekwa practically ran his group like the army – mandatory literacy exam, zero tolerance policy on nkisi, and in the beginning a strict dress code.

From 1999 to 2007, Joss never had to do polemic like Jordan Kusa for his boss, he never had to pick out women for the boss like Mamale, nor did he take on a spiritual side for the group like Passé-Kossé to prove loyalty.

As close as they've gotten through the struggles of breaking through Le Carré Magique, Joss is too much like Wazekwa and won't play the politics of the industry. He just left Wazewka because of money and got more than he bargain for with Quarter Latin. That's why he never fully committed...in my opinion.

both your posts make sense,i cant help but regret that he did not grab his chance,could have gone into a good solo career at the end of his contract,peacefully while koffi would have got used already with les mineurs growing into mature artists,the way the attentat team made the step to be THE team for bercy

Jitrois tried to become the new Fally but by the time he arrived it was already too late, if he arrived earlier then maybe. Because I remember Rolly and Bapinces were complaining in interviews that Jitrois was obsessed with becoming Koffi’s favourite that during rehearsals he would hog the mic when it was other singers turn to sing Koffi’s old songs and he would want to do it on his own, which was pissing everyone off lol.
He was even doing the same thing when they went to Switzerland when it was Asso, Guerlain’s, and Juniors turn to sing Jitoris would hijack them and try and sing it himself and everyone was looking at him like wtf

How would you best describe the ideology of Quarter Latin? And how does it compare to Wenge Masion Mere or BBCG?

In my opinion, the Wenge system yields more competitive artist in the long-term. If you look, there's a lot more artists that are aggressive about their solo careers than in other bands – Heritier, Bill Clinton, Ferre, JDT, Fabregas, and Deplick

Compare that to QL where it's Fally, Jordan, and recently Soleil.

i would define it like that,quartier latin's ideology is like a variant from the wenge one,one of the main differences is that the boss is far more involved directly in the shenanigans if you have an issue with koffi you wont last long to know it he's even capable to call you directly himself and shout at you late in the night,if you have a problem in wenge it can pass through a process of 10 different people making actions towards you over a certain period of time until you figure out how serious it is
therefore there is a bigger direct fear towards the boss in latino(which can potentially play a role in how the current fally/koffi war keeps a certain level of false diplomacy from fally himself where he does not stand strongly like the maison mere guys do when werra or his guys gets on their nerves),in both wenges,you end up directly involved with the boss in most cases when you are already 99,999999999 per cent done in the game and its do or die
both systems were competitive but wenge's one is more explosive more probable to lead to splits,if koffi did not start acting from 2005 like he's at the end of a cycle with them guys and then fally did droit chemin maybe they'd have all stayed longer,you could tell that they were not prepared for solo career even fally who was destined had concerns and fear despite his bold confidence but in maison mere's case they were told that they are already leaders under a supreme leader so even somebody who just had 3 months of spotlight will not fear anymore becoming a leader knowing he leaves already with a certain name and fame to go with it
and you can see that even in the wenges,there is  a tweak on bcbg's side which is more like a continuation of 4X4 where hierarchy is extremely important(which is why for example ferre had to wait in feux de l'amour to sing then in the potential next album or caludji had to wait for 3 years until we heard him on a cd in pentagone),sometimes the competitive side popped up but jb not liking drama killed it off quick to revert back to the 4X4 and hierarchy thing

His solo career started quite well, his album Vitrine a good promotion in the beginning and he was managed by Claude Mashala. But for whatever reason, after a few months things slowed down and he started to disappear slowly
