Two of the three songs are either Amapiano,  or AfroBeat, I am glad to finally hear some Swahili Congolese music by Jay Six but even the title of the song Nyansh is Nigerian, Innoss is starting to piss me tf off, he had the perfect formula to good songs, Yo Pe, making songs thst blend modern indtr7emnts with that Swahili vibe, something that is missing in Western Congo and in Mainstream Ndombolo Music, that's why it was so successful, but instead of trying to do that and build a brand for himself he keep imitating Nigerians, South Africans and whoever  comes from an English speaking country that is African musically, and about Gaz Mawete it seems like he misses that last step to get to the big stage the concept of the idea is good but we are not there yet, and no Congolese music isn't in a good place, of the new music that got released only Fally generique Innoss Yo Pe, Bokoko and Mbokalisation, gets played consistently, in African parties and most people despite respecting Congolese music have no idea who are all of these guys except for Fally

I have to disagree here. I feel Congolese music itself is not well promoted and it’s being overtaken by afrobeats. Now I’ll say Fally is the most popular among newer fans but he is not near what classics we had.

I think Congolese musicians need to strategize and find ways to make their impact on the USA. These days it’s hard to know who releases what without this wonderful group. I’ll add French rappers are often blending in notes of Congolese music which shows some growth.

I’ll add I’m a fan of Robinho, Gaz, and I’ll check that guy you posted here.

Why do you always want and care so much about Congolese music impacting the USA??  The music isn't an anglophone speaking language so it will never have that impact towards English speaking countries it just won't.

This isn't true, Despacito despite being in Spanish, and Gangnam style despite being in Korean had massive impacts globally not only jn the state, and from what I am seeing even Måneskjn an Italian group are starting to get traction, of course Despacito and Gangbam style were just two songs that the author couldn't replicate their success but it is something, the problem of Congolese music are two, one it doesn't know how to market itself globally, I still remember when Mbappe said check and repeated verbatim all the thing Pala Cherie said, and instead of HB trying to marketing that or capitalize that he only gave him a shout-out in a song... Innoss is friends with Ben Affleck, and was the protegee of Akon instead of trying to make a video with one of them he never used this opportunity only Fally tried to bridge that gap but only with Franfe and Belgium and other Francophone countries if Fally took seriously English lessons I can guarantee you that even in the States people will start to care, you need to think about the States as a musician, because it is the biggest western market jn the world sl you are really limiting yourself and losing money if you don't think about that market.

It isn't working tho, let's take for example Innoss B since is the artist I like the most since I can't be biased against him, after Yo Pe .ost of his songs were trash, Olandi was good but you could sense he startedto go more into afrobeat, and tbh if you follow others the  why people should follow you if they have the priginal? Who wants to listen to Congolese Afrobeat? What genre it is , why Listen To Innoss trying to imitate Burna Boy instead of listening to Burna Bly himself, wondered why young guys who do that genre who combines Traditional instruments and House Music are starting to become more and  ore popular? Jules Ysok came with that stupid dance, but the beat concept and the instruments were original and it was a great success, outside of Fally, who ironically despite blending other genres (never did Afrobeat) still leaves the essence of the genre alone who else of Congolese both of Brazza and Kin is having really easy time in being recognized? Roga Roga made Bokoko which is a modern version of Mbokalisation and the style that AfaraTshena and them kids on Brazza were dancing and doing, and ironically Afara Tshena and Roga Roga songs back when they came out became the most popular songs amongst African people, why? Because despite not being the traditional Ndombolo that we are usedto is original and sounds good, if Congolese artist will keep doing Afrobeats the  wewill lose our identity and good luck even performing outside of Brazza and Luanda.

Well not just USA but other countries as well. If you look at what afrobeats is doing it is truly making an impact in the USA, which helps with growth. Our genre is unique and has an opportunity to make its own impact if marketed properly.

Not to mention we go months without information on music release dates. Not sure what is going on there. Not to mention a few artists seem to just release singles on YouTube and that’s it.

When Congolese music was at good place (70's, 80's, 90's), Africa was paying attention to Congo and it was Congo who defined the charts and music styles. Today Congo is what is listening to what's happening in the world, and importing foreign music styles. Styles, that already have their high level masters in abroad.

You will know when Congo is at top when Africa will be looking at Congo again what's happening and what to import from there.

Another big difference is that the in the heydays, Congolese music was strongly fuelled by rich Zairean donors, and less from media sales and the market. To make Congolese music big again, this would be needed. This won't really happen soon. World market where the big money is is dependant on mainstream concepts, and Africa is rarely a mainstream or fashionable thing in the world. Very sadly, but this is a fact in business.

Apart from this it is good news when you see a Congolese artist having success.
