I am a great fan of rhythm guitar partitions, but I never get to hear them in songs as they are shadowed by the lead guitar. In videos captured by phone, especially near the accompaniment guitar, you can hear them quite well.
I also have a poor ear for discerning them .

sample great accompa works and highly rated acompa guitarists

The reality that most people would like to hear the solo guitar much more than the rhythm guitar. So that is why you have old songs where the solo guitar was dominant over the rhythm guitar as well as the bass guitar and/or misolo guitar if it is used.

This is mostly due to the limitations of the recording device. At times I listen to songs liked in posts that end up making me dislike to song. Later I listen to the same from some quality equipment or the original and realise that it is quite a good song.

Another factor is the prevalence of cheap audio recording system, that have give rise to some poorly produced works today. We have some software-generated song that are enhanced to oblivion. There are some studios that produce quality mixed works, but others do not balance the different equipment.

A quality recording should have a balanced ratio of each equipment, and leave the listener to enhance the equipment they would like to hear more. that is what the Tone button ( or Graphic equaliser) are designed for.

Just listen to these two examples with your Headphones :

""

You can hear the rythm guitar on one side, the Solo on the other side, bass almost in the middle and the vocals pan across. In fact, if you have good quality headphones, you can distinguish each instrument.

""

Or this very old Recording :

" "

Music mixing and Production is also an art.

They do not make these kind of Recording Nowadays....

There are various techniques available to make the rhythm guitar more audible. Some are easier, some are more complicated. Sometimes you get good results because they mixed the song in a way that the rhythm stayed audible. Sometimes it is less audible. Like in case of the song you linked, some parts are audible, some parts are not. Here is it emphasized:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1f5-bM_iuryobx31RL4tiUFMBm_TukI0O/view?usp=sharing

I am planning to make a tutorial on Youtube about how to use these techniques to reveal the rhythm guitar.

The reason why it is difficult to hear the rhythm guitar because its role is to create an atmosphere in the background. The lead and the vocals are in the foreground, the rhythm has to stay in the background, and most of the time you should just "suspect" it is there, and catch it sometimes. If the rhythm was mixed too loud, just like the solo, it would disturb the song. Especially in case of dissonant rhythms. Sometimes the rhythms are mixed louder, especially in rumba tunes, but in that case, multiple guitars can overlap, and overlapping means you cannot keep track of which note belongs to which guitar, and you can get lost if you want to separate the various guitar parts.

But as I mentioned, sometimes the extraction technique can do miracles. One technique is to have a special headphone cable, that you can plug into your player and your headphone, and you start hearing the rhythm emphasized. Listen to how it sounds, when you use that cable to listen to Wenge Musica - Sourire des Vendeurs.

This is the original song, you won't really notice the rhythm:

This is how it sounds with the special cable. Its worth listening because you can hear the rhythm nicely and it is very cool:
