I had at least 20 people who attended the show(parents children and co included) and they all say its top 2 at worst of the shows they have attended, and this is people who for some have made it to some of the arenas
this is why i laugh when an artist gets slandered for playing "musique ya zaiko",because zaiko themselves are the dancefloor kings so if you inspire from them most likely you'll make people dance

Really ? I had the impression that everybody was happy. I was there myself with my brothers and sisters.  We were all happy, we were even thinking about going to the after-show. The only things we regretted were the absence of the big screen. We were also worried about Lita Bembo, we thought he was about to collapse

I believe that those who said that it was a bad show didn't get it because of not knowing songs like Videma, Molingano, MT La Vérité, etc. or just being used to rumba-concerts of Ferre and Fally, not getting the concept of having mostly sebene in concerts

I heard Jossart is notorious for paying his musicians badly, like Madilu. So I wouldn't be surprised the dancers and guitarist ran away, but will they be caught? This only hurts future musicians as he'll likely use old members already settled in Europe for future performances to limit the amount of people he brings abroad for future tours, they need to understand that.

Stuff like this is embarrassing for DRC as a whole. I pray to God that Congo can be a functional country where the quality of life is to where people don’t have to run away in Europe or America. It’ll also help if musicians actually get paid decently. Until then this will always happen.

Musicians in large bands aren't paid a proper salary, which means they depend upon tips from fans or donors. To make matters worse, they have families (parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, and grandparents) that are depending on them as a stable source of income. Since the 1980s, Congo has wrestle with serious structural proverty as a result of rampant corruption and political instability that stifles the economic growth that can provide a healthy job market.

The best protected spaces for local workers in Congo are middle-to-high level ranking jobs in law enforcement, public education, or healthcare. Outside of that, you're hustling to make ends meet unless you're related to someone influencial to help you out. That's why some Congolese people pursue music; they may love the art form, but often it's a vehicle to arrive and run away in Europe. At least there's a social safety net in Europe, whatever money you send back is a huge help, because the purchasing power of the foreign currency in Congo is significant.

My point is that by the time you are a member of a band commanding space to enable you to proceed abroad on tour, surely poverty is not the issue. In contrast, the artists waiting to be discovered or in the second or third tier are struggling. The example case is Gezula and Kitubu (BCBG), who cannot be considered to have been wallowing in poverty, yet they ran away. A succes example is Gladyse  BCBG dance r who rarely tours abroad buthas managed tobuya plot of land or house if am not wrong

In my opinion, they run away on the basis of the "European Illusion" prevalent in the 60s, which is even fuelling illegal immigration. Tell me how, without any skills, you intend to survive abroad.

The other aspect I can consider as a drive to run away is the irregular income, uncertainty, and aspect of "sucking up "to leaders, which can be demeaning
