Because he made a mistake from the start, he didn't want to promote them massively, he opted for CINDY now he's probably seen that Cindy will not take him anywhere,she's now hated by most people including journalists and music critics within and outside Congo who have been irritating him with the same questions about Cindy.
He's probably opted to take on Fabregas because he knows the guy has potential to go big, people have been attending Fabregas' shows in numbers so any promoter including koffi see that as an opportunity to invest in the guy.

she's a good singer but for whatever reason the songs he has given her (for her solo at least) have no personality. she solo was boring. he should take note to what tshala muana was able to do with mj 30. he seems to have his head in the clouds with regard to cindy. hopefully with fabregas and his new musicians he can return to his former glory.

He keeps going and coming back, I think he's only kept because he's a good composer, I saw one old interview on which he said he's composed a number of songs credited to Koffi, I think he gave that interview shortly after leaving when the album Bord Ezanga Kombo was released. He was part of the band when that album was being prepared and people expected the album to have some solo vocals from him and Babia who was also around that time but alas, only one short vocal line by Babia made it on the CD.
