Starting fresh with a new article on impacts of artist and this time I've picked Fally Ipupa "Efandjo" because he is the most popular artist at this moment and he is the one leading the way my beliefs. I will give some pro's and con's impact on modern Congolese music. If there is anything you would like to say please feel-free but state it underneath anyway thank you/

Pros:

1) Ambition:
I have not seen an artist with such ambition in Congo, I think one of the reasons he is highly successful is because he has ambition of what he wants do or achieve that sheer confidence and belief is a strong trait of his and I think this helps strongly and this has been show in many occasion, thought, idea and final production of Droit Chemin, thought, idea and execution of Olympia and Zenith (I will explain more of this later on), thought, idea and completion of group album Libre Parcours and other things he has done due to strong ambition and willpower to do so if more artist were like this I think Congo's music will advance.


2) Growth:
Now the dude has completely excelled in growth as an artist in a unbelievable and shocking way flick back 9 years 2005 he would have thought it would be him leading and challenging many horizon's that many Congolese or even African haven't done for instance him attending the Grammy's I mean that was something big (even though he didn't win anything) but prior that event no Congolese artist has been to Grammy's, he participated BET, MTV, CAF and other awards and he has also won some of these awards (international awards) I mean of a nine year that is pretty good and right now he is the most popular and influential artist Congo (taking the belt of Koffi) for that you have to give it to him.

3) Music:
Musically he has been pretty good with his releases, speaking of his career that the guy his literally ahead of his time, first song Courte (done in Talent Latent) released 1998 is absolutely promising and influential in every right.


This could have been released yesterday because it's way ahead of it's time. This rhythm (drum pattern) is played in most modern rumba's showing how influential Fally's touch in Congolese music is. (10/10 by the way).


His spent 7 years in Quartier Latin, his songs were completely successful and artistically good, this song I think left something for Koffi and Quartier Latin in the later releases in my opinion that silk, smooth and exoticness rumba's.


Here is where I think his started to perfect his music (especially rumba's and setting his own trend that artist will follow obviously from Droit Chemin he is dominant but I think from here is were he started stamp his authority so others can follow him and song itself fantastic.
 
4) Leadership (call it Trendsetter if you want but trend-setters have leadership and charisma) :
Now the strongest characteristics that takes him two the top currently, that leadership he has is immense I mean it started just after the release and success of Droit Chemin that resulted to every artist wanting leave big groups to make their own and albums around 2007/08 the massive influx of artist leaving was completely enormous and I will give examples Ferre Gola (this is rightfully debatable but I think once Droit Chemin became successful and him hearing the development pre-release of Droit Chemin forced him to depart from Quartier Latin help and further the 5th Generation, to also be the rival of Fally),  Celeo Scram, Tutu Caludji, Montana, Bouro Mpela, Kabose and all others of that time to depart their groups and start a solo career I believe he was the driving force and the ideal man to crush the door open for the new generation. Secondly the return of mythic halls Paris was bought back by Fally again because there was a drought I think the last big mythic concert was Papa Wemba's Zenith in 2003 (Pre-Ngwanzu/Ngulu era) in 2007 he bought back that factor when he played Olympia and after everyone followed King Kester, Wazekwa and others all played in Olympia, Werrason, Koffi, Ferre and others played in Zenith, he gave the believe that those halls can be played again so he bought that factor back. Thirdly featuring's is an factor that was bought back again the new phenomenon obviously it happened back in the day like Fr. Carlyto and Pepe Kalle, Werrason an Nathalie Makoma soon after a drought in 2006 Fally featuring's with Barbara Kanam, Modogo, Ben-J and later on Olivia in A2BM to bring that factor back again, he has done many things that show his leadership so I will not go on all day (Fashion style of wear too).   

Cons:

1) Monotonous:
Although he is successful commercially I will show zero tolerance with art because this were I'm concerned 9 times out of 10 with Congolese music especially in modern day last 5 years. Fally I blame him for his monotonous style of music which repeats on and on the that typical boring exotic rumba that pisses me off same guitar work same drums and structure of songs, I think Power "Kosa Leka" his worst album by the way represents my thoughts for his monotonous activity and Papa Wemba was right to criticize Fally for that because as he is trendsetter every on would like to copy so everything will sound even more the same in Congolese music. To further my thoughts 8 to 10 mins of rumba's is also monotonous from his album to his current their has been too much rumba's he needs to opt for something else to prove his artistic ability in my opinion. 


2) Lack of Inspiration:
I question Fally's inspiration whilst preparing a song and album I think he repeats the same things on and on if listen to his albums deeply for instance if listen to Droit Chemin his masterpiece each rumba is different and has it's own style and songs to be fair but since then I think his done the same thing on and on in A2MB (1000% Love = Chaise Electrique), (Naufra Ketch = Cadenas), (Attente, Emeraude too some extent) I think Fally needs to look at his former boss Koffi on how he changes things you can't compare Noblesse Oblige, V12, Loi, Effrakata and Monde Arabe because each album there is a change I think Mopao is inspired from different things Noblesse much more Tchatcho inspiration, V12 much more pop, electric and keyboard driven inspiration, Loi smooth and Wenge inspiration, Effrakata a much more Wenge inspiration and Monde Arabe when things get a bit more exotic Fally does not have that difference with his inspiration I believe. I think he can do it like he do on Prince de Southfork sounds like alternative rock song.



3) Vocal Occurrence:
Another factor that let's him down the same style of vocals again he does not make any difference only difference I've seen is that his vocal tone has got a bit higher because on Courte and Eternellement his voice sounded a bit lower and had a flow of a second voice singer (listen properly to those two songs his sounds like a 2nd voice singer), in Droit Chemin he voice sounded much more higher as he dominated (typical 1st/tenorist voice) from then he hasn't changed tried anything new from Cadenas he continued with that style to this date it annoys me heavily (eh eh eh ehehe) shut up man!, he needs to try something a bit new like he did on A2BM one of the songs I forget the title (singing a bit like Mpongo Love) he sounded very good as a singer.


From 5:21 he dwell's on that type of singing he needs to change.


I don't have a big amount of time to a into depth with my thoughts but I hope you understand what I mean feel-free to comment and Thank you 

Good analysis there and it's good you put a ''disclaimer'' about Ferre because he went solo earlier than Fally and had started preparing songs for his solo album and rehearsing with his band before Koffi Olomide went to disturb him and tied him to a contract which forbade him from working on his album and on albums of others but then when he joined Quartier Latin he realised that Fally was busy preparing his album and Koffi had given him his blessings and resources so this compelled Ferre to rethink his position.

Coming to think of it now, i believe Koffi did not want a ''child'' of clan Wenge to succeed and i believe it's still the same now, he's busy messing up Fabregas' career so this is why i believe Ferre did not necessarily wake up coz of Fally's success especially when you look at the time it took him to release his album which came shortly after Fally's Droit Chemin. It was completed in 2006 though went on the market beginning of January, i think Ferre realised Koffi's ulterior motives but it's .

I did not read much of the article. I find the article a bit jumbled up at some point when minuses out number the positives of fally. But what is important about fally is that in the mess that Congolese musicians have brought amongst themselves, he is giving us light at the end of the tunnel.

The only con I have for Fally is that he doesn't give his singers a lot of space and the lack of sebene songs.

EMO has anwered you correctly! Not only is he being used to do that to Werra but to Fally as well. Fally and Werrason are the most popular and most active congolese musicians with major fan bases, Fabregas is too small to be pitted against them,he's gonna fall and already he's going down as his shows since he insulted Werra and Fally have been flops despite the initial success of the dance ya mado.
