He's asked about the current leading soloists and he says he gets on well with them and says they play well but he has challenged them to step up their game because of late the solo has gone down, singers and atalukus are the ones praised much so it's time soloists put in more effort to compliment the other musicians in songs so their work must be exceptional all the time. He says he gets on with Ferre's Charly Solo, Fally's Alvarito Solo, Werrason's Arc en Ciel, Indice of Wazekwa's band and many others but he fears no one of them and says he's been trained by the best and Makaba himself gave him the thumbs up at a recent concert and people will discover him and his style which has been influenced by many top soloists as mentioned and he calls it ''Tolbernization''

He says JB Mpiana gave chance to the full band on Balle de Match so all of them have played on the album including the other new soloist Reagan Solo and the legendary Maitre Ficarre Mwamba their elder. He hints that the album will be out in time for the festivities this year.

I didn't say JB Mpiana want to be famous as Fally, I said that if JB Mpiana and Wenge BCBG, especially, with the work of Tolbert and Fusèe could be as famous as Fally, because JB Mpiana is well known in Congo and in some parts of Africa but not internationally wide known as Fally, why? Because JB Mpiana's laziness in the last years made the people sick of waiting, in fact if you see people had to wait 5 years for balle de match, and is not out yet, even though he released some singles, in a country like Congo where, album are dropped every year. Period

Fally is known internationally more simply because of his type of music and his collaborations with other artists, he does a different genre to that of JB Mpiana who sticks to African music and is way older than Fally.  One of Fally's idols is JB Mpiana so before you start insulting great artists defendingCongo, first reflect on the implications of your words. Yes, JB Mpiana is lazy musically because he is purely a singer, the man makes his money outside music and he funds a lot of these youngsters around so it's not like he just sits at home farting all day,he has things which are more important than music in his life,he is not a youngster, in his time ,he travelled the world like Fally and made his name and he is living on his past glory,people are always eager to hear his music because he has made his name already.

Where did you see I've insulted Congo I've just said the truth, and the fact JB Mpiana's oldness is not the fact he is not famous like Fally, look at Koffi, look at Selfie the song went international and Koffi is older than JB Mpiana, but Koffi is not lazy like JB and in fact even though is more than 20 years that he is in the music business he is internationally known people everywhere knows him just like his musical son Fally, JB wasted the potential of him and his Orchestra during this years and Balle De Match is a taste of how powerful could be him if he had cobstance and if he weren't so lazy, how can you say I insulted Congo? Sly Mampeza may be throwing so many words in different directions but what he is saying is simple. JB Mpiana was more popular than he is today because of his lazyness in producing top notch predictable and reliable albums supported by good artists like we are seeing in Fusee and Tolbet. And if I am lying Sly, recently you agreed that there is some air and energy pumped in bcbg.
Being famous does not mean playing Afro-pop or Western music.....its the quality of the music/videos, marketing and most importantly, band attractiveness. Tell me if JB didnt have most of these qualities during Titanic and TH. He did until slowly he started losing quality artists in the name of bula....makaba....titina.....mukena.....biku....mboka liya.....caludji....moleso etc. The marketing by music lables was also good then. Then he remained with mediocre artists.....a friend and marketing manager (roger ngandu)....til this day. Look at the music during the last 15yrs?

EMO, JB Mpiana does not produce music to be popular but to satisfy his loyal fans,that is my only argument,the rest of what the fella has said is unnecessary. Am a loyal fan of JB Mpiana and off course I know his weaknesses and strengths. This quoted statement is what I found disturbing ''.....JB Mpiana could be at the same level of Fally's fame.'' I have closed my case. Not every musicians out there plays music to be popular,the same lazy JB Mpiana is the same man that is loved and respected by other musicians young and old because of the things he does away from cameras including funding so many of these musicians around. He will not produce R&B rhumba or childish songs like ''Selfie'' so that they go viral and he gets famous, he has gone past that level.
