After three years Koffi Olomide's last ever album 13ieme Apotre was released on Tuesday October 13,2015. I wasn't really excited for this album like how I usually am when one of my favorite artists release some music. But when the month of October came and watched his interviews I was getting a little excited and hoped it was an decent album. After the polemic with Jb I was hoping that Koffi was doing this album with a lot of urgency. The day the album was released the first song I saw that was put up was Selfie and I liked the intro and the chrous and I taught it would have good sebene but it turned out to be some decalle song.
 I really don't like that song. In this album Koffi didn't really sing in that high signature voice he usually does that much, he mostly sang in his second voice.
 
I was listening to the album and I got through the rhumbas first (when I was listening and if I heard what sounded a generique I skipped it because I wanted to listen to the rhumbas first) and I was getting annoyed that it was mostly Cindy and Koffi the whole time. I taught the male QL singers would sing a lot because of the way Koffi was promoting them on TV and the internet. I'm mad that there was only one song with his male singers.

 This album had a lot of religious stuff in it, to some lyrics about God/Jesus and there was rhythm in the 1+1 generique and the gospel song 13ieme Apotre. The only song that sounded like a Koffi/QL song of old was Dikwiz. The generiques in this album were good but were ruined by Cindy and the decalle in them. I like how Koffi gave all his animators their own generique, the instrumentalist did really good in all the generiques. I really liked the songs with Ferre,Fabregas and Evoloko. Fabregas sang really good in Maniko Frites and I wished he sang more but noo Cindy had to sing a lot. I would've preferred that Cindy not sing at all in the features. For this to be Koffi's last album was just a huge disappointment. His last good album was Bord Ezanga Kombo. I feel bad for the male Quatier Latin singers, I hope that Koffi will still do their group album because I taught we would hear the many talented singers he has in the group in 13ieme Apotre. My favopite songs are all four of the sebene generiques and the features with Ferre,Fabregas and Evoloko, Dikwiz,Freddy Taggart and    Symposium. I would't buy the whole the album just the songs I mentioned.

Wow J Dogg you made a great review. It sums up Koffi well. Luckily I did not waste my time also hearing this album as a whole.

It is sad that Koffi has never improved much.

Indeed his last good album was Bord Ezanga Kombo which was 7 years ago. Like I said, I miss the old days of Koffi.

Your sentiments seem reflect our popular opinion. About your statement of Koffi singing in second voice, it's typical of established singers to not put as much effort into their singing abilities, especially when nearly every song is penned by some songwriter. Age also plays a factor. Starting with BEK, there have lots songs where you can almost classify his singing as just talking/mumbling.

No offense intended, but your review would be easier on the eyes if was broken into paragraphs. Just a thought.

Matebu, thanks for your feedback. I was wondering the same thing about the eys, I've now put it in paragraphs. Yeah maybe he sung more in second voice more because of age and I don't think if most songs are from the same songwriter then that determines how they sing a song, unless they told them how the song goes or gave them advice.

Don't forget that Papa Wemba is 66 years old and his voice is still top notch. I don't think it is age that is killing Koffi. I think Koffi has not taken well of his voice well enough. It is clear now.

Thank you Jdog for the review, i've only listened to the generiques and the feats with ferre, fabregas I was also pissed that cindy sang in the ft with both ferre and fabregas especially Fabregas I was hoping that koffi would bring back sebene and get rid of the decalle crap and I was especially hoping cindy would not sing in nearly all the songs at least in only one cd she could have sung and yeah you guys might be right BEK is actually koffi's last good album even though personally I don't really like the album cause of the lack of sebene but if I was the male singers I would just leave there's nothing there for them cause they're overshadowed the poor guys

Thanks CM, I was really disappointed that the male singers only sang in one song, hopefully they do a maxi-single soon and then a group album because there is a lot of good male singers in that group, I got really annoyed of Cindy in the album. I also got annoyed by the amount of decalle in the album.
